Okay, so I'm normally very skeptical about things like psychics or whatever. Not that I don't believe in them, but I've never been proven they are real.
However, over the last couple of years I've had experiences that are making me question whether I have some sort of "gift", and I'd really like to know if anyone else has similar experiences or can explain mine.
Basically I have these intense dreams (much more vivid than normal), so much so that they tend to startle me awake. They are all similar in that they are about one person I know, often in distress.

2 years ago it was my ex, I had about 3 dreams in the space on a week/10 days that him and his family were looking for help or struggling with something.
I felt compelled to contact him and he told me his Nana (who raised him) was dying of cancer.
Then about 2 weeks ago I had a very vivid dream again about another guy I was seeing a while back (these dreams always seem to be about those I've been particularly close with), this dream wasn't disturbing, but when I woke up I again felt totally compelled to contact him. When I did he said it was so strange I contacted him when I did as he was just in my city for that weekend and he'd been talking about me the night before (when I would have had the dream it turns out).

There have been other similar ones - but always tends to be those I've been closest to over the years. And when I wake I have an overwhelming need to check in with them.

I know most people will think I'm reading way too much into these (i mean, everyone always has some stress in their lives at any point don't they). That's exactly what I would have thought before too.

I spoke to my friend who said I should read more about empaths and honestly, every apparent "trait" I relate so strongly with.

Am I losing my mind? Haha. Has anyone else experienced similar things, or believes they are an empath?

I do believe in psychics, however I don't think I would read too much into those two particular dreams, especially not the second one.

I have had situations where I've been thinking or talking about a person from my past who I haven't seen for years, then bumped into them that day. Always thought that was odd, like I was having some sort of weird premonition!

there’s no such thing as psychics - just coincidences. But I think it’s lovely that when you have these dreams you reach out to people to check they are ok. I think that shows you are caring and compassionate.

I would say you sound very switched on to what's going on around you- a high level of consciousness, if you like, but not Psychic.

I've had three occurrences of sudden strong feelings to get in touch with a friend who lives overseas. Within a day or two, each time, she has phoned to say she was pregnant. I also dreamt that her firstborn had a particular name and hair colour.....and, without having mentioned this to her at all, she did call him that name and he does have the hair colour.

It is interesting when you start to hear others' experiences of similar things. They're the kind of anecdotes I'd have rolled my eyes at years ago but now find fascinating to hear about

You're not an empath, you're not psychic. If you truly think you are then I suggest a psychiatrist.
