To wonder whether the midwives forgot to cut the cord at birth (lighthearted)

DD is 3. It's just me and her and the cat

Every weekend and Monday it's the same, from pick up at Nursery on Friday she literally doesn't leave my side, she cries if I go to the toilet without her, that's how attached to me she is. She can sleep in her own bed and often does, but at around 5am in the morning she comes into my bed with her pillow and blanket and snuggles next to me. She also hasn't got off my knee all day, and insisted she needed to be carried around Tesco early. She's not ill or coming down with something as she's been like this since she turned 3 earlier this year.

She is fine at Nursery and goes in without looking back at me, but as soon as I pick her up in the evening that's it until I drop her off again. She won't let me leave her with my mum or a babysitter.

As much as I love her, I do wonder if they forgot to cut the cord at birth, afterall no-one needs to be attached to their mother 24/7 surely?

Lighthearted in case you missed it. Any tips to detach her from my hip/lap? Or am I doomed to have a totally attached child until she's a teenager? Grin
