Sorry not an AIBU but need help quick. I have recently started working in NHS in North England previously work for NHS Scotland. I had an nhs.net email address which I could sign into from home pc & from my I phone. Now I have an nhs.uk email address. I need into it today (Sunday so IT helpdesk not available). Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you 😊

Typically you can only get into those from PCs on site, unless you have a VPN set up or IT have already connected it to your phone.

Thanks I did think wonder if that was the case. Typical. I do have a works laptop with my email account on it but came home ill on Friday so forgot to pick it up.

I can get in to my nhs england e-mail from this link:
portal.nhs.net/

Click access e-mail and then log in details? I can’t access any of my stated files or download any attachments unless I am on a nhs networked pc though.

You trust may have webmail set so you can access their nhs.uk email from any browser, but without being able to speak to IT/access the intranet to find the details (ie what address you need to go to to find this), you are a bit stuck! Ours using the same log in and password to access our main accounts.

You could text colleague as they might know or if really stuck call switchboard and ask them? The could check the intranet if they don’t know.

Sorry for all the spelling errors hope that made some sense!

You should contact your old trust and ask them to set the email as a leaver, then once that's done, the new trust can set it as a joiner so they can control it. If you've not logged into it for over 30 days then it might have been irreversibly deleted

I can access my nhs.uk email on my iPhone - I just set it up under mail settings - have you tried adding it as a new email in mail settings on your iPhone?

wishicouldthinkofausername · 18/11/2018 13:50

The downside to that of course is that you spend your life looking at work emails

Popcicle123 · 18/11/2018 14:09

wishicouldthinkofausername I tried to add account to my I phone but I need the sever info.* I used the same server as my nhs.net which is eas.nhs.net but it didn't work. My nhs.net account is through exchange but I think my nhs.uk one is an outlook account but not 100% sure??? I do have a VPN on my work laptop (that I've unfortunately left at work Blush).* Think
I'll just have to wait until tomorrow.** Thanks for all ur replies

leotimmyandvi that link takes to to nhs.net and when you try to type in nhs.uk it adds nhs.net Grin.** Thank you though

The IT helpdesk is available 7 days a week - 24 hours a day. I would just phone them. I've phoned them on a Sunday in the past.

If you're unable to resolve an NHSmail issue with your local IT Team, you can contact the national helpdesk 24 hours a day, 365 days a year:
