Anyone else still do this? I can hear certain songs and want to hear them over and over for weeks on end.

My 'strut song' is the Annie Lennox version of I Put A Spell On You.

I can cheerfully listen to that for hours.

The Radio 2 Live versions of Let It Be by Gregory Porter and Take Me to Church by Hozier.

Whoops

SundayShawl · 17/11/2018 23:53

Yep, when Pretty Fly For a White Guy pops up in my playlist it goes straight on repeat 😁

bbcessex · 17/11/2018 23:57

you are very unreasonable not to tell us what is was, OP!

SleightOfMind · 17/11/2018 23:58

Not quite weeks on end but I do have weird phases of craving certain songs.
ATM it’s Uptown Top Rankin
It’s so perfect but too short so I have to hear to it more than once to feel sated.

Off to listen to Pretty Fly for the first time in ages. Thanks for the reminder Grin

WhitePhantom · 18/11/2018 00:01

I remember when I was home sick from school aged 14 I played Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" on repeat about 5 million times Grin Nothing like your fave song of the moment over and over!

GlitterPixie · 18/11/2018 00:20

Yep I often do this. Either just one album for weeks or sometime one song on repeat for ages

Iminagony · 18/11/2018 00:57

I do it all the time. I go through phases of loving a song. Right now my fave is Halsey, Without Me.

bluetissuepaper · 18/11/2018 06:48

@WhitePhantom I used to listen to this on repeat as a kid too!! It was on a tape so that was pretty Labour intensive Grin

GreenandBlueButterfly · 18/11/2018 07:20

Yes. I do that a lot, especially with songs by Ron Pope

Sorry! Grin

For some reason it's currently donny Hathaway's version of Jealous Guy, I heard it on a random Spotify playlist for the first time and loved it and have been playing it repeatedly since, his voice! Never liked the John Lennon version and the roxy one leaves me cold.

DahliaDiver · 18/11/2018 07:42

Yes it’s very rare that I listen to a mixture of songs. Normally there’s a song I’m currently obsessed with and will listen on repeat for weeks until I hear something new which becomes the next obssssion! Most people think I am very odd for it I think.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 18/11/2018 07:59

Yep!

My go-to song at the moment is "Tulips from Amsterdam" by Max Bygraves Blush It got stuck in my head weeks ago and I can't stop singing it!

darkriver198868 · 18/11/2018 08:10

Me. I have some songs on heavy rotation. I am very selective about what I listen to.

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 18/11/2018 08:16

I have certain song that helps me relax and fall asleep when I'm suffering from anxiety and depression.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 18/11/2018 08:20

Every time I get in the car, Chlorine by Twenty One Pilots goes on several times in a row

desertmum · 18/11/2018 08:22

I only opened this thread because I read the title as a 20 mile walk and was a tad awestruck! Bloody hell got tulips in amsterdam stuck in my head now

GrumpySausage · 18/11/2018 08:26

Kate Bush 'running up that hill' and recently ABBA gimme gimme gimme. So much so my 3 year old now belts the words out with me too.

Fletchasaurus · 18/11/2018 08:42

Mine is currently a song called My Champion. It's rock and it makes me feel better!

liquidrevolution · 18/11/2018 08:47

Currently Angel Olsens Give it up. Prior to the was the fall ghost in my house Blush

When expecting DD I listened to the stones she's a rainbow all the time in the car. I didn't know I was carrying a girl until she was born.Confused DD generally dresses like a rainbow in bright colours a prints so it was clearly a sign.Grin

cheesefield · 18/11/2018 08:47

Carry on wayward son.

ForalltheSaints · 18/11/2018 08:57

I don't, but glad to read of the rarity of someone walking 20 minutes instead of being lazy and using a car (if available).

Vitalogy · 18/11/2018 08:57

Yes Smile This has been on repeat a lot here, including a great video, I love it. Famous - French Montana. The second video I think is really good too! Makes me smile. Adam Levine's version.

BevBrook · 18/11/2018 09:01

When I was at school, before the days of repeat buttons, one girl taped Red Red Wine back to back on a cassette so it would play over and over again. She used to play it in the sixth form common room.
