At work this afternoon, chatting with three colleagues about a young lass (19) at our workplace currently on ML with 3.5 week old baby girl.
Next week another mutual colleague who by her own admittance has never changed a nappy, fed a baby or held one for longer than 2 minutes (when the infant in question was brought into the office for cuddles aged 5 days), is taking the day off to ‘babysit’ said infant (at her home not the babies) for 6 hours so the new mum can stay home (at her home) and play computer games.
I was gobsmacked but was told I was being silly\old fashioned and it would be fine!!

Now I accept it’s not my baby etc, but wibu to express my ‘disbelief’ so openly/vocally.

YANBU. It does not sound like a good idea.

Sounds very odd for a new mother to just hand the baby over to someone just to play video games. Why can't she do that when the baby is asleep?
