To be worried about DD

DD (3) has become a nightmare overnight since her I’ve had her brother a few months ago. She’s gone from a lovely, placid, angelic girl to an emotional wreck.

She loves the baby, and stroked him and talks to him whenever she can. But with me and her dad she is very fractious, has screaming tantrums and has started hitting things (not people) in frustration. She will sob for half an hour and say she is cross without being able to say why. Everything else in her life is the same/nice

Is this normal?! How long does it last?

It could be down to the changes in family life, adjustments have to be made by everyone. It could just be though that at her age she is feeling stifled and is wanting more independence. I know my girls did at that age, just giving them choices in small daily things like what to have for breakfast or what to wear, giving them time to do things for themselves and resisting the urge to fix things after them. It all made a huge difference x
