I'm debating a breast increase/lift but am torn between feeling shit about myself and thinking there is more to me than my appearance.

I haven't but I know someone who has. She had 1 boob that was quite significantly bigger than the other so had them balanced out. they are fabulous boobies and she loves them.

araiwa · 16/11/2018 10:41

No i havent

Spiderdemon · 16/11/2018 10:43

I would always try other things to improve my self esteem before getting someone to cut deeply into my body with a knife. xx

Jolonglegs · 16/11/2018 10:50

I'm very happy with my boobs, but I can understand those who aren't. I think I'd like to try all other options such as different bras and diet before thinking about surgery. Yes there is more to life than your appearance, but trying to improve that appearance can be acheived in lots of ways. Good luck.

Kittykat93 · 16/11/2018 10:57

Yes I have, and never looked back.

BetterB00bs · 16/11/2018 11:20

sweetheart That's probably the main reason I'm considering it - my boobs have always been asymmetric but breast feeding my DD has made them even more odd and now also empty.
Bra's just gape at one side unless I wear an insert but you can't do that when you're naked.

Sweetheart · 16/11/2018 11:25

Well first off it sounds like you need new / better fitting bras. My friend had her boobs done as she was still also single and it had a big impact on her meeting a guy as she was worried about the first getting naked bit.

If you can afford it and think it will make you feel better than why not.

boredsaffa · 16/11/2018 11:32

I have had mine done. Love them but it's not been without complications. I would recommend it 100% but my advice don't do it through these groups like transform etc so it through a private hospital with surgeons who work in the nhs. I had a mummy make over and unfortunately it took a toll on my body and suffered rare complications with the breast implants. However because I have done it through my local private hospital they have been fantastic it sitting the issues out with no further cost to me. Unfortunately they have to come out for 3 months and then reimplanted but again I won't have to pay another penny as it's covered under my initial payment. So it's Worth the extra money. I'm definitely having them back as I love the confidence it gave me, my body image has improved for the first time in years I feel confident in my own skin. Listen to the after care as this is important to ensure they look there best. A good surgeon will recommend the best size and shape. If you can afford it do it

Nanaletti · 16/11/2018 11:33

I have and have no regrets. I love them. Nobody even knows I've had them done.

BetterB00bs · 16/11/2018 11:34

I'm married but have always felt self conscious when dating, DH says he loves my boobs but also understands why I'm considering surgery.
I guess I'm worried about things going wrong - it's an operation under GA for a start. I've read so much about the implants feeling hard/fake or people still being dissatisfied and I wouldn't be able to afford further operations to correct things.
I wish I could just accept myself as I am but I've always struggled with my self esteem. Losing weight/exercising has helped me to be comfortable with the rest of my post partum body but I feel like my boobs are one thing I can't change unless I have surgery.

I haven't but I probably would consider it if I was that unhappy with my breasts.

HildaZelda · 16/11/2018 13:29

I haven't but I have 3 friends who did. One of them for similar reasons to yourself OP. One of her breasts was smaller than the other and she was very conscious if it.
The second lady for sort of similar reasons. She wasn't even an AA cup and went to a B/C and was very happy with the results.
Third lady is a different story. She has huge implants that look very obvious. She has plumped up lips and a lot of Botox and fillers too, and of the 3 of them she's the only one who's really not happy, but to be honest, I don't think she ever will be.

kennelmaid · 16/11/2018 13:33

I have considered a boob job in the past for a similar reason. My right breast is about three cup sizes smaller than my left and it's quite noticeable (to me) when I'm wearing a fitted jacket and it can make a smart outfit look lopsided. I'm 60 now and I've realised that my body nobody looks at me long enough to notice! And I'm fine with that.

tommypie · 16/11/2018 13:39

Had mine done - loads of complications and really wish I hadn't.

DerelictWreck · 16/11/2018 13:46

Those who have had it done, could you talk a little bit about the recovery, complications, scars etc? Would love to get mine reduced and lifted (32J) but scared of potentially maiming myself.

CSIblonde · 16/11/2018 13:56

I did, at 26: years of being bullied about it at school left me with massive issues & unable to enjoy sex because I felt ugly. All the girls at school were a C cup by age 14 and i was 32AA. I'm a 34C now & I love them, they're in proportion to my frame & build.

CSIblonde · 16/11/2018 14:00

Recovery: I was up & about next day, sports bra day & night for support, no soreness but they looked mahoosive. By 2weeks one inch scars healing & perfect 34c & normal bra. Vitamin e oil & Coco butter means scars gone completely now.

MrsApplepants · 16/11/2018 14:02

I’ve had a reduction and uplift. Best. Thing. Ever.
Wished I did it years ago but had to be done with childbearing first.

MrsApplepants · 16/11/2018 14:05

In terms of recovery, couple of weeks off work, wore surgical bra for 6 weeks ( or maybe longer as it was comfy!!) very little pain, ‘anchor’ type scars barely visible now. Boobs a perfect, firm 30D

ilovecherries · 16/11/2018 14:07

I’m having an uplift and reduction done next year. Currently 32K. I can’t wait. I’ve been approved for NHS surgery but the date keeps being pushed back so I’m probably going private, currently researching surgeons as my nhs surgeon doesn’t do private work. Going to a hospital though, not a clinic.

selepele · 16/11/2018 14:09

i know a few women who have. The lift scar is terrible but the implant one isnt bad.
I have a good set now but when i have kids i will get them done

MrsApplepants · 16/11/2018 14:11

Yes it’s very important to research your surgeon, the outcome is totally dependant on them.

Dunkling · 16/11/2018 14:11

I have. No complications.

I always say that the me NOW... I wouldn't have them. I would be happy as I was and also, as a grown up without B**ard teenage peers or manboys who think it a fair game point to tease, being small chested wouldn't bother me. Think Keira Knightley, Kate Moss et al.

But, I remember that is probably because now I never think of them. I'm happy naked. Happy buying bras. Can grab any outfit and it looks good. So yeah, I would in fact do it again.

But I was lucky in the op, and outcome. I won't chance it again. They will stay in and rot into my old age, or come out. That I do know.

lottielottielottie · 16/11/2018 14:18

I had a boob job 18 months ago. Went from 32B to 32DD. I love them! Definitely haven't looked back & so glad that I did it. Although my boobs were ok before, what little boobs I had started to drop south, they now look much more pert (and bigger) absolutely no regrets .... although the recovery was much more painful than I anticipated as I had mine done under the muscle.
