I'm debating a breast increase/lift but am torn between feeling shit about myself and thinking there is more to me than my appearance.

i think people are far more judgemental if a woman wants a boob job more than they would be if she wanted a tummy tuck or nose job. I sometimes wonder if its because its a womans issue, and therefore seen as frivolous vanity, or we are all imagining people like Katie Price.

BetterB00bs · 17/11/2018 10:56

Yeah Katie price is the opposite look I’m going for- I just want full matching natural looking in proportion boobs. Not these saggy lopsided ones I currently have. Sad

my advice is to just do your research, do not use one of the conveyor belt companies, do not use anyone that does special offers, or uses salespeople or nurses. Make sure you see a surgeon at the first appointment. You will probably have to pay for this appointment. If its free, thats a bad sign, that means its with a salesperson. Good surgeons do not need salespeople. They are in high demand. Make sure you look for decent aftercare packages, because you never do know if youll need it, even with the best surgeons.

Pinkyponker · 17/11/2018 19:26

yes. I had mine done 3 months ago.
I had always had small boobs but aftwr breastfeeding two babies I was totally flat and deflated and it was awful.

they look great! not perfect as I do have a slight ripple toward the outer boob on one of them but this is because I had pretty much no natural breast tissue and I'm very slim. if I were to gain weight my surgeon believes the ripple would go... I just find it difficult to gain weight as I'm always chasing two toddlers around!

recovery was more painful than I thought it would be , I had my implants placed under the muscle due to having such little natural tissue. They look great though, I'd definitely do it again!

MemoryOfSleep · 17/11/2018 20:00

Having a baby has wrecked my body. Don't think I'll ever wear a bikini again! That said, I wouldn't have medically unnecessary surgery under GA. It just doesn't seem that important in the grand scheme of things.

Frenchcroissant · 17/11/2018 20:33

Pinky, do you mind saying how much you paid, as you had them done quite recently? My friend paid £4000 four years ago, I think I'm looking at £6000 at the clinic where I'm going next month, it is a lot of money...

MrsStrowman · 17/11/2018 20:42

I'm flat chested, even in pregnancy, I wouldn't simply because it's not one operation they have to be replaced/redone and I wouldn't go under general anaesthetic unless it was medically necessary. I'm not judging those who do, that's just my own personal reasoning, people have asked me before why I wouldn't have a boob job. I also like the fact I don't have to wear under wires or bras at all if I don't want. If DH wanted a large breasted wife I'm sure he could've found one

MrsStrowman · 17/11/2018 20:48

And 'revisions' is just another word for another major surgery

Ztst · 17/11/2018 20:51

I really wish society did not make people feel so bad about their bodies.

cmace2 · 17/11/2018 20:57

I breastfed my two children. My boobs were small before kids but nicely shaped, and to be honest I'd thought about a boob job even then, but after breastfeeding they were empty too and I while I'm fairly happy with the rest of my body my confidence was dipping because of my boobs. I got mine done a year ago and it's one of the best things I've ever done. I love them!!! They are now in proportion with my body and I'm very happy. I know some posters above are saying confidence comes from your head, not your boobs etc but honestly it has completely boosted my self esteem. But just remember that the operation isn't the only expensive part, you need a whole load of new bras and then new outfits to show off your fabulous new boobies Grin

Runnynosehunny · 17/11/2018 21:03

No I haven't, I'm just hoping small saggy breasts come into fashion. It could happen! No-one wanted a big bum in the 80s, now they're all the rage.

Namechangerextraordinare101 · 17/11/2018 21:19

I haven't, and wouldn't. But then I work in a breast clinic and tend to see all of the worst case scenarios, including cancer caused by implants (although that is rare).

DunkandEggAgain · 17/11/2018 21:28

Check out the Instagram account #saggyboobsmatter. Awesome lady, recently interviewed by This Morning and invited to Buckingham Palace. Her movement and sentiments are really gaining popularity.

DunkandEggAgain · 17/11/2018 23:12

Thread killer strikes again. Hmm

Roominmyhouse · 17/11/2018 23:25

I don’t have a personal experience but follow this instagrammer and found her story about why she had her implants removed very interesting. www.saraontheinternet.com/why-i-removed-my-implants

Kanye West's mum died on the operating table getting hers done

His mom died at her house having been left on her own by her nephew who was supposed to be her support. Also, it was liposuction, not a boob job.

kiabella · 18/11/2018 03:31

I have. I have always had low self confidence and had them done knowing they wouldn't "fix" everything. I'm generally a lot happier in myself with them and they gave me a lot more confidence than I thought they would.
I had them done through contacting the surgeon directly, as pps have said avoid the conveyer belt companies

6onTheHappyFarm · 18/11/2018 07:23

All I was pointing out was that there's a risk of complications with any surgery, and there is the risk of death too.

6onTheHappyFarm · 18/11/2018 07:28

And while it's good from a financial point of view that some surgeons offer a lifetime guaruntee on their work, from a health point of view that's rolling the dice again to under another general GA.

Pinkyponker · 18/11/2018 07:42

I paid 4995. i went with a private hospital rather than a cosmetic surgery clinic

OneStepSideways · 18/11/2018 07:52

I might have mine done at some point but it's not a priority just now. I'll wait until we've completed our family, and see how they look after a few more years breastfeeding!

How long since you stopped breastfeeding? It can take a year or so for breasts to plump up with fat cells after you stop. Mine were very empty to start with but gradually returning to normal after a year.

redzebra10 · 18/11/2018 07:56

is there a natural way to get them firmer. i'm happy with my size but wish they were abit more pert.
any magic potions or lotions i could buy

Aomame83 · 18/11/2018 09:37

I had one done almost 10 years ago. It was to go from barely filling a 34AA, to a 34D and they look in proportion now. I hadn't had any children at the time.

I had silicone submuscular implants and went with the company MYA. It was an incredibly painful recovery for the first week. I have small scars under the bra line, they aren't very noticeable now. I have had no problems since. I breastfed a child with no issues and they seemed to compensate for the post baby sag. They look fairly real, but they feel firm. The only issue I have is that I can't sleep on my front comfortably anymore.

I was so happy with the company and the results, that 3 people I know went on to use the same people based on my recommendation. They are also very happy with the outcome.

maddiie · 18/11/2018 09:41

I did! I was AA at a push. I only went to a C/D cup. My friends all joked I had the worlds smallest boob job. Worked endlessly for my confidence though and I have nice natural looking cleavage, nothing in your face but a million miles better than what I had before. I had op and was discharged same day, rough two weeks followed with lots of pain but I had zero complications still to this day, four years later. I went with MYA and they were amazing, I kept getting scared and they let me meet with my surgeon three times more than normal just so he could settle my nose and go through my options of size again and again as I was terrified they'd end up massive.
