I could have been not paying attention, but no deal seems to be thought of as we just walk off and do things on our own. But actually there are close to 50 years' worth of treaties, agreements and obligations and those won't just go away because one party out of a large number wants them to. Even if we end up with no agreement, there will still be penalties and ramifications arising from undertakings we have made, and we don't get to write them off.
