‘My child may have all these lines in the nativity but they are *such* a reluctant hero’

This year I seem to have a few parents telling me how unfortunate it is, or how freaked out the kids are to have such important parts in the nativity. My DS has just a few lines. I do like these parents as it goes and I do laugh as it’s not like any of this will realistically matter but AIBU to think these people are just wasting their time getting het up?

What? Your OP makes little sense.

Confused

Ah ok. So, I have had a number of parents doing the reverse boast of ‘oh my child might by Mary/joseph etc but my god they are so freaked out/not wanting to do it and you are so lucky your child has so few lines’. Am AIBU to think oh bore off you competitive lunatic

My son is a sheep. I'm guessing no lines to worry about there!

Just agree, and say that is precisely why your child turned down a lead role.

I did that. Cue lots of face gurning. Brilliant
