To think phones must be doing something to our children?

I mean mentally. I worry about my DDs childhood and teenage years (she’s 1yo) with how much phones are used now. I actively try not to be on my phone around her too much but I’m shocked by the new ‘screen time’ feature on apple to see how much I am!!
Social media must be doing something to all our mental wellbeing.

Am I just overthinking and over worrying :(

I don’t have children but I completely agree with you.

There is a very interesting bit of research that shows that when you check your phone you get a hit of dopamine (I think!) which is the happy hormone. So people are actually getting addicted to their phones.

There are apps to stop you using your phone so much. No idea re social media.

I also appreciate the irony of posting this using my phone!

Shirley, I’m ashamed to say that that makes sense. I do feel slightly addicted to my phone. It’s awful!’

Look on the bright side, in another 10 years when your child is 11 there be new technology that surpasses the mobile phone.
