to ask for reed diffuser recommendations?

I have recently had a couple of White Company Winter diffusers, which are probably my favourite smell in the world! But - they are reasonably pricey at nearly £30 a pop and only lasted about 2-3 weeks! Has anyone else had similar experiences with White Company diffusers or have I bought a bad batch? I have another diffuser in my bathroom which is a Pecksniffs aromatherapy one from TK Maxx which was much cheaper and is lasting ages.

Do I try another White Company one as I love that Christmassy smell, or can anyone recommend a similar smell which will last longer?

Does the juice run out after 2-3 weeks?! I've got a TK Maxx one in my bedroom which has been going strong for about 3 months at this point!

EdithBouvier · 15/11/2018 17:38

They still work but you stop smelling them because you get used to the smell. The big next ones are amazing.

Warsaw0912 · 15/11/2018 17:40

Agree the white company ones don’t last very long! Longest lasting I’ve tried are the next ones, they smell strongly until the very last liquid has gone

Creepyexgirlfriend · 15/11/2018 17:42

St Eval

Tweakanddashi · 15/11/2018 17:43

We have an Aldi one that I moved to the garage more than 2 months ago. It is still incredibly strong smelling.

We don't normally have reed diffusers in the garage- the smell was really annoying me so I popped it out there then haven't bothered moving it.

WitcheryNights · 15/11/2018 17:43

Next have some really lovely ones and I think I got a pine smelling one from Sainsbury's which was very Christmassy!

Ignoramusgiganticus · 15/11/2018 17:47

The rituals ones are good but pricey.

PretendNothing · 15/11/2018 17:54

Another vote here for the Rituals ones. Not cheap but I love them.

Perfectpanda11 · 15/11/2018 17:55

Lidl do a lovely smelling fig one.

Persiangirl · 15/11/2018 19:18

Amazing one called SWEET PEA, can’t think if it’s Haze or similar popular but it’s £8 and absolutely beautiful x

Saucery · 15/11/2018 19:44

The Thomas Coles range is fabulous, their candles too. Not super cheap but last for ages and are soft and subtle.

nerdsville · 15/11/2018 20:15

Persiangirl If it's the air wick sweet pea one you like (my personal favourite!) they're regularly on offer in the co op and wilko for 3.99. I like to stock up on millions when the offer's on as I'm an unashamed tightwad. They also do a candle version which is 2 quid when the offer's on and it's utterly heavenly.

whiskyremorse · 15/11/2018 20:24

I might be staying the obvious but have you tried turning the reeds upside down to release the fragrance from the bottom half?

MemorylikeDory · 15/11/2018 20:27

Aldi diffusers are lovely, fragrance No 1 is my favourite

anotherneter · 15/11/2018 20:29

Are you putting all the reeds in at once OP? I put fewer reads in to make the scent last longer. Love the white company diffusers

WellTidy · 15/11/2018 20:34

Wax lyrical sweet pea and violet is my favourite. I love all of the Rituals ones but they’re pricey, maybe less than The White company though. I a must going to try the next ones, they’ve been even recommended on here before.

houseofhungryboys · 15/11/2018 20:44

Emma Bridgewater Sea Blue Flowers - got mine in M&S - lasts for ages, was £20

newrubylane · 15/11/2018 23:00

vinegarhill.co.uk/shop/home-scents/diffusers/diffuser/bergamot-rose-diffuser/

They have other scents too, but this is my favourite. Good strong scent and mine lasted ages. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from radiators to help them last longer.

SometimesMaybe · 15/11/2018 23:02

I got a Jo Malone one as a gift and it last over a year. It must have cost about £90 but it was the same overall value as the Aldi Pomegranate ones I usually buy.

sunglasses123 · 15/11/2018 23:05

Aldi lime and basil. Really really nice and I am very fussy.

Sparklingbrook · 15/11/2018 23:12

Molton Brown Black Peppercorn is really nice. Lasts 6 months or more.

Shenanagins · 15/11/2018 23:18

My Aran Aromatic one has been on the go since February.

Noboozeforme · 15/11/2018 23:35

Another vote for Moltan Brown. Brought mine last Christmas and it's still going (just about).

Very important to turn the reeds over once a week or so.

Motherofhounds · 16/11/2018 21:55

Thanks everyone!

I have been turning the reeds over weekly but the White Company diffuser's liquid actually ran out completely after the 3 weeks, so I was left with a completely empty bottle as opposed to juice that was no longer fragrant if that makes sense?

Lots of recommendations on here though so I might spend my evening ordering 20 different diffusers online whilst lamenting the lack of gin in the house!

Next big diffusers are the best imo
