To make a formal complaint

To the property management company who, knowing I have just started to gut my flat due to moving out, (I emailed them before the inspection that it would be untidy with boxes everywhere!) came round and did an inspection anyway and branded it “more like a charity sorting centre than a home” The comments were subsequently passed on to me via email from my landlord.

I was aware they were coming.

Lmao!! That's actually funny. Hopefully your landlord has a sense of humour. I'd just send back a message saying as discussed in the middle of a sort out more than happy to re arrange a subsequent viewing in 2 weeks time.

MrWolfknowsthetime · 14/11/2018 13:02

I’d laugh tbh.

araiwa · 14/11/2018 13:03

Complaint about what??

I wouldnt even dignify that complaint with a response tbh

AwfulSomething · 14/11/2018 13:04

Must be the same company I endure, certainly sound as idiotic!

FredFlinstoneMadeOfBones · 14/11/2018 13:05

I wouldn't bother complaining it's just silly. I'd probably reply saying that you'd informed them you were moving out so what did they expect?

Ells0204 · 14/11/2018 13:13

Lol, now you say it I suppose it is funny! BUT I should add that following on from this comment, they then go on to say in the current state it would be near enough impossible to find a new tennant and therefore won’t let me break out of my agreement early 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have already emailed back saying well obviously I wasn’t going to leave it like that! I’m just trying to get everything out in case they do find a taker and I’m told to leave in 2 weeks (moving in to partners home hence why I can be flexible and move quickly) hence why it’s a bit of a tip.

I think I’m more p*ssed off about the fact that I pay circa £1300 a month to these people (1 bed flat inside the M25...don’t even ask) and they think they can just ponce around in an expensive suit making comments like that because they’re in the property business. Or am I REALLY being unreasonable now? 😂😆

Literally exactly the words I said when I replied!

Sorry that was for @FredFlinstoneMadeOfBones

But surely if you knew they were coming you knew you should have tidied up? That's what people do ahead of inspections.

Ells0204 · 14/11/2018 13:40

@peachgreen

Sort of yes. But I’ve already moved out, just not officially. I’m living at my partners and been going back on weekends to clear out. They emailed on a Monday to let me know on the Wednesday they were coming, hence the response telling them it was untidy! They replied and said it was fine 🤷🏼‍♀️
