To report white van man?

ThisIsWhatItSoundsLike · 12/11/2018 19:30

Sat in car at school pick up, I assume man (could easily be woman) got too close to my car and hit my wing mirror scrapping it along the length of the van.
The road outside school is exceptionally busy and frustrating. The sound could not have gone unnoticed so potentially driver did it on purpose but most likely didn't care if they did.
My car is quite old and damage is minimal, that I will def not bother to repair.
I have the details of the firm and which vehicle was involved.
So do I report this driver just for the hell of getting them in trouble/take responsibility for their poor driving.
Or let it go and accept there are enough things to worry about in life?

I called a company to tell them their driver was a c*nt for driving so close up behind me we were practically sharing the steering wheel. They didn’t give a damn but I was happy to swear at someone Grin

I'd report it

CryptoFascist · 12/11/2018 19:36

Definitely give them a call, that's outrageous

You could report it but don’t swear at some innocent person who happens to answer the phone! If your not that bothered, not going to repair it then it seems a bit pointless especially as your not even sure he knew he did it or that it was deliberate. Speaking from experience today after receiving an email complaint because an employee commented on something on social media that a girl took exception too, I couldn’t help but think have you nothing better to do? When she emailed to tell me she’s thought he was vile. Didn’t make me think much of her either to be honest

Honestly it depends on where you were parked? Was it an actual parking space? Outside the school here people park half up on the curb but still stick out on the roadway.

If you’ve been hit and the other driver failed to stop you should report it to the police within 24hrs and they will write to the owner of the vehicle to get their insurance details. It’s up to you then if you make a claim but it will put the wind up them. The police could do them for driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after an accident.
