Tickets go on sale on Friday for his farewell tour.

AIBU to think he may not be as good at 73 compared with 25 years ago?

I bet he is. Maybe different - a bit - but still great. I love Elton John. Are the tickets very expensive?

AddictedToTea · 11/11/2018 23:15

I saw him around 4 years ago and he was bloody brilliant!

I also saw him about 4 years ago at our local sports stadium and it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

SeaViewBliss · 11/11/2018 23:19

He’s playing at a venue in out neatest city and we got tickets a while ago.

I’ve never seen him live so I won’t know but I’m dead excited!

OneStepMoreFun · 11/11/2018 23:25

Great singers often stay good. I saw Paul Simon a couple of years ago. His voice was gorgeous. And Suzanne vega's was better now than in her heyday.
Really glad you posted this. I didn;t know he was touring. Will look out for tickets.

Nothininmenoggin · 11/11/2018 23:26

I've seen him in concert 4 yrs ago he was bloody brilliant played all the hits. Amazing concert you will love it.

Farewell tour? Is that another way of saying he is retiring or has he had bad news?

KC225 · 11/11/2018 23:30

He played in an obscure football club a few years ago. My friend lives near it, so organised a big BBQ that night. He sounded great and we were downwind and pissed.

Yes he is retiring. He has made no secret of the fact his farewell tour is exactly that.

I saw him when he came to Ed Sheeran’s show at Wembley a couple of years ago. He was absolutely amazing! Would never have chosen to go to one of his shows but I’m so glad to have heard him sing live, a proper talent. Highlight of the gig tbh!

He sounds great in the Snickers advert, tbf.

MissLadyM · 11/11/2018 23:40

I've seen him twice and he was wonderful. He's getting on and probably wants to relax and enjoy his family. I doubt he'll retire from music totally though!

Celebelly · 11/11/2018 23:42

I saw him a couple of years ago and he was SO GOOD. I loved it.

Butterymuffin · 11/11/2018 23:46

He can't need more money and at 73 he's probably thinking he needs to spend time with his young kids while he can. Good decision to go out at the time of his choice.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 11/11/2018 23:53

Make sure you take a toy plush Disney lion king and hold it up during"Circle of Life" OP! 😀

PyongyangKipperbang · 12/11/2018 00:10

A man who needed to hire a box van to get him to his fancy dress party because his costume couldnt fit in a car, and you think he wont be as good as he used to be?!

I think it'll be fine!

SymphonyofShadows · 12/11/2018 00:16

I used to work for him, he's an utter perfectionist. He wouldn't be doing it if he didn't think he'd smash it.

MidniteScribbler · 12/11/2018 00:20

I'm waitlisted for tickets once they become available. Happy to give up my firstborn for a decent seat! (OK, well maybe not, but I will take him to see the show. I want him to get a decent musical education).

Rachelover40 · 12/11/2018 00:20

I think he will be good and he's very nice too so do go and support him if you can.

I don't think that, it was just a pondering really, I mean 73 is quite an age.
