Asking for advise about using abortion pills at home

Clareb12345 · 11/11/2018 13:32

Please don't judge me! I had a baby 10 months ago, after a horrific pregnancy, sickness throughout in absolute agony to a really tramatic labour. I found out two days ago I'm pregnant and I just can't do this! My OH and I are not financially stable at the moment, he's just lost his job and I'm only back to work part time, we are really struggling to make ends meet as it is! I can't believe I've been so stupid!!!! I've been in contact with women on web, I was hoping someone would have some experience with this and can give me some advise.

Please go through official channels, don’t buy to use at home without medical help. Are you in the U.K.?

puzzledlady · 11/11/2018 13:37

Please don’t buy the pills illegally - go through the proper channels. Marie Stopes are very helpful.

Curlyhaircatastrophy · 11/11/2018 13:37

God no don’t buy anything online! Terrifying!

BertramKibbler · 11/11/2018 13:38

Do not do it this way, speak to your GP or a clinic like Marie Stopes.

You don’t need to risk your own health.

Birdsgottafly · 11/11/2018 13:42

Are you in the UK, or a Country that allows abortion? Do you think your Partner would be against it? If so go to a Health Professional.

My DDs friends have had early abortions with pills, through the NHS and even so, some of them have had very heavy bleeding and minor issues, but ones that needed follow up treatments.

You need to keep well for yourself and your existing baby.

Birdsgottafly · 11/11/2018 13:43

Also, no-one would judge you.

You've got to do what's best for your circumstances.

Caprisunorange · 11/11/2018 13:44

Are you in NI? If not please please please go to your Gp. They see this all the time ESPECIALLY in new mothers.

If you’re in NI there are people who can help with safe pills at home x

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 11/11/2018 13:45

If OP is using Women On Web I’d guess she was in NI or ROI (no provision for abortion yet)

donajimena · 11/11/2018 13:45

Contact BPAS or as mentioned above marie stopes. No judgement here either.

sevenwallflowers · 11/11/2018 13:46

Please be safe OP, no one should judge you xx

Santaispolishinghissleigh · 11/11/2018 13:47

Poster took them last week. She was poorly. Not sure if she sought medical help. Was scarey reading.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 11/11/2018 13:48

For everyone advising the OP not to do this, she might have no other choice.

Not everyone in the UK can access abortion services.

Sparklesocks · 11/11/2018 13:49

We don’t judge you.
But please, if you can, go through the proper channels with medical support.

Clareb12345 · 11/11/2018 13:55

yes I am In N.I, Ive already spoke to my GP who was no help what so ever, she sat judging me basically telling me there are very few options unless I travel to mainland , this isn't an option unfortunately, I wouldn't have anyone to mind my son and to be honest I'm so embarrassed I'm in this situation to tell anyone what I'm doing. I'm 100% positive I can not have another baby, not just my own MH but my OH also has three children from a previous relationship who live with us also, 12,10 and 8. He is being fully supportive.

TattiusTeddius · 11/11/2018 13:57

Oh OP, I'm so sorry you're going through this Thanks I don't much much about access to abortions in NI after the recent referendum - is there a women's fund you could maybe use? Please don't take pills at home.

Semifeatured · 11/11/2018 13:59

You're in very early days so you have options. I'm not sure where your political leanings lie but would you be open to anonymously contacting a politician to ask their advice? I know of one who is campaigning mercilessly for this in NI. They may be able to direct you to funding of some sort to travel here?

Semifeatured · 11/11/2018 14:01

TattiusTeddius the referendum was in Ireland, not NI and legislation isn't in place there yet either.

ZackPizzazz · 11/11/2018 14:02

What are you wanting to know, exactly? Women on Web will no doubt advise you.

If you need help during the process you can go to hospital and tell them you are miscarrying. They can't tell that it's an induced loss.

Semifeatured · 11/11/2018 14:03

Also there's a facebook group (not specifically for your circumstances) where I might post on your behalf for advice, with your permission?

Semifeatured · 11/11/2018 14:05

Zack/OP what is Women on Web? I'm guessing the OP is maybe looking for symptoms to look out for or 'reputable' suppliers of the drug maybe. It's going to be hard for anyone to do that.

Clareb12345 · 11/11/2018 14:06

Yes please, the advise would be greatly accepted.

I would love to speak to someone from NI that's been in this situation and used women on Web

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 11/11/2018 14:10

I’m in NI too OP.

I haven’t been in this position, but I do follow Alliance for Choice who campaign for abortion rights and can hopefully offer some advice. They have some guidance for what you can do if you can’t “travel” on the front page of their website-

Best of luck ☘️

I feel for you. Have a look at Abortion a Support Network, speak to them, they are wonderful. www.asn.org.uk

Hugs, thinking of you.

Sausages18 · 11/11/2018 14:15

That should read ‘Abortion Support Network’
