My psoriasis started about 6 months after my wedding. Organising my wedding was a quite stressful time for me so I've put it down to that.

My dads psoriasis started a few months after a stressful time too and I've heard that it's a common thing for it to start a few months after a stressful occasion.

Mine started when I was two so can't help there, but I do find Selsun the most effective shampoo. Stinks, but works!

I was 9 when mine started, can’t remember a specific trigger but it definitely goes worse when I’m stressed and/or run down. T gel shampoo has worked for me as has one called Alphosyl.

When I was 18 the demertalogist at the hospital recommended using coconut shampoo for scalp psoriasis and it really does help with the itching.

I had it mildly as a teenager, but after having ds2 it suddenly snowballed. I believe it's to do with the immunosupression in pregnancy suddenly stopping.
I lost a lot of hair as it spread so much on my scalp, I was about 50% covered on my body and I started to develop psoriatic arthritis too. I am now on strong immunosuppressant meds and it is still not fully under control, six years later.

Fingers crossed for you (not that mine do cross anymore!) that the shampoo helps, but don't leave it too long before seeing a doctor if it doesn't. Flowers

Mine started at 21, a few months after my parents’ divorce during which I had to drop out of university to mediate and provide emotional support. It sucks, none of the treatments have worked for me and it’s not quite severe enough to be given biologics on the NHS.

Yes stress is a bugger for it flaring too. Mine has chosen my separation to flare as well, especially unfortunate that it's the inverse kind on my genitals (tmi...). Which while annoying for a long term partner, is much more off-putting for anything umm... casual!! Wink
