DH insists on serving garlic bread with chilli con carne and rice.
I think it's disgusting and totally weird, just tastes wring together.
Who is being unreasonable him or me?

I wouldn't bother with rice. The chilli and garlic bread is perfect!

It goes beautifully! If you feel that you're still not quite fully loaded with carbs, add a handful of chips!

We always have chilli, rice, pittas and sour cream. I don’t think I could eat it without the bread component as I’ve never had it without - it would feel weird.

When we have leftovers I mix the chilli and rice and some chopped sweet potatoes, sweet corn and peppers and roll them in tortilla wraps and put in an oven dish on top of a tomato and red onion salsa. Then I top with cheese and bake in the oven. Double carb heaven.

We have triple carbs with curry as we have rice, naan/chapatis and sag aloo. And sometimes chickpeas as well for the full coma effect.

Totally normal.

I've never served garlic bread with chili, although I can see it going really well. I might do it next time.

Chili in my house is served with potato wedges. Or sometimes nachos. Rarely rice.

A lot of people make chilli in the same way they make Bolognese and they just a bit of seasoning and kidney beans... So I suppose that's why he thinks it works?

YABU garlic bread goes with ANYTHING. 😄

YABU its a staple with chilli in this household

I absolutely love Tesco own brand, cheap garlic bread AND it’s accidentally vegan. I have been known to make two a garlic baguette and eat it on its own. 😳
