Ok mumsnet massive I trying to deal with some hard truths so here goes. I have worked
my way up in a technical role. But now realise its getting harder to keep up with the slightly younger more technically talented crowd. Feeling stressed at having to keep up ! I am on shorter hrs for school pickups so had to leave on time as well. Feeling a bit worried about be able to keep job in next restructure

Well, you either decide that you're going to throw everything you have at it to keep up, or you look for a job that is more suited to you. If I were you, I'd be looking around at other jobs now, while you're on the front foot.

Can you go into a form of management? That way you won't have to stay on the treadmill of keeping your skills up to date but have an idea of when people are pulling the wool over your eyes when it comes to work estimates.
