To be annoyed with ASDA

Booked an online delivery for between 1 and 2 today because I don't get in till 12:45 at the earliest on Thursdays any yet I get a text at 12 saying your order will be delivered between 12 and 1. A petty first world problem I know but surely the delivery slots are chosen and paid for for a reason. If I was going to be in between 12 and 1 I would have chosen that time (I checked several times and I had definitely chosen 1-2). Obviously I can't leave early so I've just got back, as far as I can tell my order hasn't been delivered or attempted to be delivered so that's fine but AIBU to complain to ASDA as this has happened several times.

And yes I know its petty and pedantic but I'm busy and need to be able to structure things in for set times or they don't get done and things get confused or forgotten.

Complain and kick up a fuss.

No, complain.

I've had one saying it's coming an hour later which also made me Hmm

I use ASDA (but for our area they now use 2 hour slots only) they'll attempt the early delivery then try again in the booked time slot. I normally get a call from the driver once he's realised I'm not in asking whens best to retry delivery.

ShutUpBaz · 08/11/2018 14:03

I had one that turned up early, text me saying 'don't worry, we'll be back!' then never came back Hmm, even within the delivery slot I'd paid for. DH had to go and do a full shop after work at 11pm as we had no lunchbox stuff/breakfast food (we let everything run down as we had booked and paid for a delivery before anyone jumps on me).

Asda offered to re-delivery TWO DAYS later and a £10 delivery pass. I went through every manager and even called the store to try and get a better result (like a free shop or free months delivery). Nothing.

Yes very much complain.

I almost never shop at Asda at all, but have used the online odd couple of times (I think for a change once in a blue moon - I'm weird like that) and seemingly every time, there has been an issue.

Very first shop I did - some years back, booked a slot as per. One HOUR and 15 mins before start of said slot, gets a phone call "Hi it's Asda wit your shopping, I'm outside your house can I deliver?"

I was out, luckily only popped in to DM on way home from work for a cuppa, I'd booked the slot specifically to allow for this. If I'd have still been at work - no way could I have left.

Called them, got a voucher for free delivery off next shop Hmm needless to say, didn't use it.

I ordered for last Saturday, delivery between 7 and 9am. Nothing by 9am, called and they adv that they are running 2 to 4 hours behind. So asked them to cancel as had to go out.

It's still sitting in my basket, and stating it's out for delivery. I ordered 45 items and 22 are showing as unavailable which is bloody useless as would have had to go out and replace the items anyway.

Complained to them, it took 2 emails before they responded and they have said they will refund me and give me a £10 e voucher bit shit really though

RestingBitchFaced · 08/11/2018 17:10

I had similar peony excel never received the voucher 😡

Except

I did get my shopping eventually, at 3:15. Safe to say I won't be shopping there again. Looks like its Tesco and Iceland for me. Nice and cheap and hopefully more reliable. If I had a car/lived on a decent bus route I would use Aldi or Lidle but unfortunately I don't have that option just yet. (Learning how to drive as soon as my student finance is sorted and I've worked out what rent I need to pay and budgeting each month).

Resting

I got an email this morning saying it had been added to my account. I'd rather have the £50 back that they've taken out of my account for my invisible shopping though

Going to spend the £10 on Christmas wrapping paper and not bother with the food delivery again, still really fucked off about it!
