How do I do it ?
Do I just ring around nursing homes?
Or do I have to contact social services?

I'm not the right person to care for my dad now he is bed bound. We tried it for a while but it bought me and my dsis to our knees.

Firstly can you manage to keep her safe over the weekend? Because she is suffering from the behaviour al and psychological symptoms of dementia, the wandering and probably some neglect of her self care such as eating drinking and personal care, she will be deemed at risk. She may need urgent respite which you will need to ask for from social services. You can make a safeguarding report to the urgent ss number in your county. If she is hallucinating etc she may have a urine or chest infection. Get a out of hours GP to check her out. She may need hospital admission if she has a uti and it is making her delirious. You are also suffering from extreme careers stress and must tell SS and the go that. If she goes into urgent respite the Social Care Assessment can be done there.

At her advanced age your Mum is extremely vulnerable and you must get the GP involved. Either that or call 999 and get them to check her out. The screaming all night, the wandering etc is very distressing and she is very high risk of coming to harm. I can completely understand why you as her career are at breaking point.
