DS has his 8 week jabs yesterday. First dose of calpol in the drs surgery immediately after and was absolutely fine. Was due his second dose at 10.30pm but was fast asleep and temp fine so figured I’d wait until he woke for a feed. Checked his temp at 11.30pm, it was 36.7 and again fast asleep so left it. 12.30am it had shot up to 39.2. Woke him up and gave him calpol obviously. Took his sleepsuit off as it was warm in the bedroom anyway. He has cried ever since, is refusing to feed and his temp is still 38.7. The only way I can slightly calm him is to sort of waltz around with him on my shoulder.

I know we know why he has a temp but I’m finding it so hard not to panic. I just want it to go down and for him to at least have a bit of a feed. Poor DH has pretty much been up with us since 12.30 and has to leave for work at 4 too!

At what stage am I supposed to seek medical help?

This is so stressful. It happened to my DS for his 8 weeks jabs too. I called 111 to ask for advice. Maybe they could give you some guidance too?

Ring 111 because his temp is still high.

He’s 37.9 now and feeding so think we’re just going to have to ride it out. Will phone 111 if it goes up again before calpol next due.
