Exp works during the week and i work weekends so we've always worked that i would have dd during the week and he would have her weekends and for the past 2 years its worked ok. Obviously if one of us needs to change we work it out and so far apart from a couple of times it has worked without issue. Anyway this weekend saturday was my nephews party and it was a last minute thing (they literally booked it and told me about it thursday) i told exp i wanted dd to attend so could he make sure she was there on time started at 2 so not early he said fine and she'd be there. i messaged him the day off an hour before party started and got a message saying they were on their way only for them to not show up and for him to completely ignore phonecalls and messages rest of night so i had to message his sis to make sure dd was ok. this morning at school i asked him where the hell he was and what he was playing at not messaging back for him to complain he only gets so many days a week and apparently 19 hours notice for a party wasnt enought time even tho they hadnt had anything planned that day. so wibu to have been pissed off at him blatantly lying to me about being on his way? he did this 2 year ago at my other nephews party with a weeks notice but apparently im in the wrong because i didnt give enough notice this time

When she's at school you're going to have the issue of hardly seeing her because he has her every weekend. Maybe you can change it for some weekdays and some of weekend? If not, he has a point that he only sees her 2 days out of 7 and he doesn't want to spend that time at your nephew's party. Yabu to expect him to, but then he was u to not be honest about it. I think you need to accept he can do whatever he chooses on his days.

He is wrong for saying he would go or was on his way, but his time with his daughter is his business, you can't dictate what he does with her. And vice versa when she is with you during the week.

I did say to him if it was an issue or he had plans then fair enough. but its the fact he said they were on their way then completely blanked me,for all i know they could have been hurt or anything. This isnt the only issue we've had regarding things like this the past few months but i think this is the one that really annoyed me as my daughter had told him on friday she wanted to go yet he admittedly told me at the school that he didn't bring her because me messaging 15 mins before the end of the party asking where they were pissed him off which makes no sense

I wasnt trying to dictate what he does i only asked if he could bring her, like i said i told him if not no problem. I think i'm just going to tell him we need to revise the arrangement as its dd who is missing out. the past few weeks we have had things planned and he hasnt brought her or has refused to swap, again fine if they have plans but i am then told by dd that they just stayed in the house all weekend so it does annoy me but i havent mentioned it to him because like you say his time his choice. but dd explicitly stated she would like to go.

what a twat. if he didn't want to take her why not just say instead of lie and not show up?

mummytothree87 · 05/11/2018 13:37

thats what i tried to say to him, but i just got the 19 hours isn't enough notice then it changed to i pissed him off by texting 15 minutes before the end to see where they were and thats why. Honestly just wanted others opinion on whether i was expecting too much and being unreasonable expecting him to stick to what he said.We broke up because he continuously lied about big and small things including not working for 18 months because of a work issue when it turned out he was telling his boss he couldnt turn up to the courses and didnt have money for his license yet telling me his license was sorted and his boss was chasing it up leaving me grafting 70 plus hours a week to pay for everything whilst he sat on his ass and done nothing with the kids. yet he still wonders why i don't believe a word he says.
