rainbowquack · 03/11/2018 14:50

I don't understand twitter. Can just see a whole load of snippets of conversation.

Amiable · 03/11/2018 14:51

Love this. Thank you for sharing

Birdsgottafly · 03/11/2018 14:52

I don't get what would make you cry, tbh.

MicroManaged · 03/11/2018 14:56

Sorry but...it seems a vaguely interesting snippet about a woman who was a fairly fast runner and ran quickly across the bridge.

I don’t really understand what’s inspirational about it or worthy of a cry.

Am I massively missing the point or just dead inside?

waterlego6064 · 03/11/2018 14:59

I love that. The bit of film in particular!

guiltynetter · 03/11/2018 15:02

@micromanaged i feel the same, ive just had a baby and cry at everything but this...it’s a nice story and all, but...

I was a bit confused as from the photos I thought the lady may have been black or of mixed heritage, and I thought what an achievement that would have been to have been employed in Westminster and been a female athlete etc., between the wars.

But even if I've got that wrong, its still a great story and still an achievement, I love finding things like this.

Tahani · 03/11/2018 15:19

nope - not me.. dont see it

I thought it was lovely. Made me happy.

Redglitter · 03/11/2018 15:31

Interesting story but I can't see what's inspirational or tear worthy to be honest

butterflysugarbaby · 03/11/2018 15:36

Sorry what are we mean to be seeing? Confused

butterflysugarbaby · 03/11/2018 15:37

I mean what are we MEANT to be seeing?!

Wazznme · 03/11/2018 15:42

No idea why it made you cry?

DaysLikeThis1 · 03/11/2018 15:55

I’m not even slightly hormonal but still thought it was lovely. Thanks OP

AspergersMum · 03/11/2018 15:56

Lovely story, thank you. Family history is so interesting and it would be great to have such an inspirational story to tell the grandkids.

diddl · 03/11/2018 16:00

Not moved to tears but very interesting.

Has anyone else ever done it I wonder?

chrisinthesun · 03/11/2018 16:06

Boring IMO. If it's nothing to do with me, or anyone I know, I'm not too interested or impressed.

Like these documentaries on ITV about the Menai Straits and Tenby.. and the people of 'the harbour.' I don't give a stuff about the lives of people I don't know or care about.

Same with bloody sob stories on 60 minute makeover, or X factor and so on. They just leave me cold.

Many people have inspirational stories in their family, a hero in the family, someone who suffered, someone who helped many people, someone who achieved good things, and so on an so on... we just don't all crow about it on social media, or use it for attention and sympathy.

Call me what you like. I am as entitled to my opinion as the posters saying it 'moved them to tears.......'
