I've been flicking though some threads and am slightly concerned I'm eating too much fruit!

I eat 2-3 peices a day. 90% of the time fresh. Otherwise tried or tinned.

Veg wise I'll be anywhere between 4-8 portions. Depending on what meals I'm having.

Do I need to cut down on the yummy fruit. Too much sugar?

I was thinking the same thing..

DonaldDucksTowel · 03/11/2018 10:27

Confused is this a weird joke I don't get?

PurpleDaisies · 03/11/2018 10:27

I don’t get it. Confused

LongSummerDays · 03/11/2018 10:30

Two things.

  1. Don't take dietary advice from mumsnet.
  2. See 1.
Jolonglegs · 03/11/2018 10:30

Are you overweight Still?

StillGotTheTreeUp · 03/11/2018 10:31

No joke. I've just been reading people saying you shouldn't eat more then 1 piece.

I've had 2 portions today. A persimmon and 1/4 pommegrannet on my porridge so frankly there's potential to eat more then 3 portions today.

Is it okay sugar wise? I understand 're fructose/refined sugar. But still.

Confused
PurpleDaisies · 03/11/2018 10:37

Have you had issues with eating? This is a strange thread to post.

3luckystars · 03/11/2018 10:38

Were you always this impressionable? If be more worried about that.

Mercurial123 · 03/11/2018 10:40

I agree why do you take diet advice from MN? Some people don't have a good relationship with food. I eat a similar quantity of fruit and have done for years. However YABU for using the word yummy.

MrsJayy · 03/11/2018 10:40

Goodness me just eat what you like, Mn would have us eat dust and waterto avoid sugar if you are to believe half the food guff on here fruit has natural sugar in it dried fruit has higher sugar content than fresh but eat what you want,

PinkHeart5914 · 03/11/2018 10:41

Just ignore Mumsnet it really is the worst for healthy eating advice in my opinion.

Yes fruit has sugar but it also has many vitamins and good stuff, better to chow down on the fruit that a mars bar,

Your fine lovely

StillGotTheTreeUp · 03/11/2018 10:41

I do. But it isn't that strange is it Confused

I've literally just been reading a post with posters saying this much fruit is too much sugar... it wasn't even a 'diet' thread. Just a general food thread.

OP posts:
Feefeetrixabelle · 03/11/2018 10:43

Ignore posters who scaremonger. As long as your weight is in a healthy range to your height, you have a positive attitude to food and treats, you can run down the road for a bus (disabilities and difficulties permitting of course), your toilet habits are healthy and you enjoy your food then your fine.

PurpleDaisies · 03/11/2018 10:44

It’s quite common for posters with eating disorders to ask for reassurance that their diet is healthy when it isn’t meeting their body’s basic requirements. Yours reads a bit like one of those. That’s why I asked about eating issues.

StillGotTheTreeUp · 03/11/2018 10:44

Mercurial123 Ha. Sorry! Would delicious be Mumsnet acceptable?

OP posts:
Mercurial123 · 03/11/2018 10:44

Just because someone says something doesn't make it true. Why not visit nutritional sites and get your info there it's not difficult.

SaucyJack · 03/11/2018 10:46

“Mn would have us eat dust”

There’s not enough protein in dust Mrs Jayyy. Try a a dead-bug based breakfast to keep you from going over your daily carb allowance of half a gram.

MrsJayy · 03/11/2018 10:46

I once read a post where a poster wouldn't give their child rasins because the sugar made them hyper

Afternooninthepark · 03/11/2018 10:46

It’s far better to eat 2 or more pieces of fresh fruit per day than any of the other crap that is bandied about as being healthy these (ie gluten free or low fat/low calorie). Don’t take things you see on Mumsnet as gospel, 99.9% are not medically trained professionals.

Mercurial123 · 03/11/2018 10:47

Couldn't care less if it is MN acceptable. Adults saying tummy, yummy etc winds me up. Cute from a child not so much from an adult.

Afternooninthepark · 03/11/2018 10:47
