I told my 13 year old daughter today - that i have some mental health problems and that i've been taking medication since her dad left me 6 years ago. I cant always hide my depression anxiety, and mood swings - so i'm sure its not news to her that mum is 'up & down'. But aren't parents meant to be 'sorted'. I don't know if i was too honest. Thanks for thoughts. She has just been diagnosed with chronic fatigue and i fear it is learnt behaviour.

On the contrary, I applaud your open honesty. It will only be a good thing for your bond, I'm sure of it.
Nothing to be ashamed of or anything like that. Good luck to you both
