Delivery driver just had a dump at my house!

AIBU? I've just had some furniture delivered and the first thing the guy said was, 'Can I use your loo?' I didn't want him to but felt that I couldn't refuse so I reluctantly said yes. He was in there for ages. He's had a smelly dump. It fucking stinks. I could have cried. He then bought the furniture in and I've just had to go and clean the toilet. I'm disgusted.

contaminated area - OP, you realize its your jacks right, not Chernobyl?

MrBull · 02/11/2018 13:35

P.S. we once had a tradesman's teenage son (was helping his dad out on jobs in the holidays) block our toilet with his shit. His dad made him come and tell me. He was mortified. I made out it happened all the time. It didn't though. What the hell he was being fed, god only knows! 😷

abacucat · 02/11/2018 13:35

Alfie Given the OP's hysterics I am assuming the OP is way over exaggerating.

Sirzy · 02/11/2018 13:35

Why did you let him use the toilet if your going to make such a fuss? Hmm

It’s a toilet. He used it for what it’s intended for. With your permission!

LittleMissPonsible · 02/11/2018 13:36

I guess people leaving the loo a mess is a potential consequence of not having a loo brush. What do those of you with no loo brushes expect people who visit and have to poo to do to clean up the toilet? (This is a genuine question, not trying to be argumentative!)

Also, feeling quite sorry for the delivery driver who is expected to drive for miles to use a toilets and not allowed to eat his lunch outside in a van when he’s finished a job.

WitsEnd2018 · 02/11/2018 13:37

No I'm not exaggerating I struggle with other people's bodily functions outside of my family. I can't stand using public toilets etc and won't eat from a buffet. I think a lot of people have very low hygiene standards

This has happened to me before. A delivery driver from a very well known online appliances company used our downstairs loo and left it stinking and dirty! There was airfreshner in there and a window he could have opened but nope!
I think it's totally unacceptable to leave it dirty. To be honest I have spent many a day at work in and out of peoples houses and on the road in between and I would never use a customers bathroom and instead will stop at a supermarket/McDonald's/petrol station if I need to go.
My sympathies... it's horrible

PhilomenaButterfly · 02/11/2018 13:37

I always seem to need a poo half way round Sainsbury's. As that's usually an hour after I've left the house, I now have a toilet break as soon as I get there, before shopping.

BarbaraofSevillle · 02/11/2018 13:37

contaminated area

Maybe the OP should invest in one of these in preparation for anyone else who dares to use her toilet for it's intended purpose.

Fuck knows how people like this would cope in countries that don't have the sanitary facilities that we are lucky enough to have in the UK.

Delivery driver just had a dump at my house!
Miscible · 02/11/2018 13:38

OP, do you ever use public loos? How do you cope with the fact that other people's, um, emissions have been in there?

PortiaCastis · 02/11/2018 13:38

Barbara. Yes quite right a loo brush would have removed the skiddies, the poor bloke could hardly say oi missus lend us your marigolds luv

WitsEnd2018 · 02/11/2018 13:38

My home is my nest and I don't like others coming into it and doing stinky shits.

OP posts:
Topseyt · 02/11/2018 13:38

You are being utterly ridiculous. He needed a shit and he asked to use the toilet. No doubt he would have waited if possible, but how far away are the next public toilets?

Anyone familiar with conditions like IBS (very common) will know that once the urge to go is upon you it is virtually impossible to hold on. I have suffered with this for much of my adult life.

Newsflash - toilets are for shitting in. If you don't have a toilet brush then that is your choice, but you surely don't expect other people to put their hands down your toilet to scrub off skiddoes.

Miscible · 02/11/2018 13:39

Cross-posted, I see you say you can't stand using public toilets. So what do you do if you or your family need to go when you're out and about?

Neptunesgiraffe · 02/11/2018 13:39

I thought the first line of your post was going to be: in my front garden.

Or similar.

So....Delivery guy has a poo in a toilet. OK, then.

I will admit to laughing out loud at asking for the delivery charge to be refunded.

May I suggest a toilet brush (I know that this is contraversial on MN) and then he could've cleaned the loo himself.

BarbaraofSevillle · 02/11/2018 13:39

What I don't understand is why everyone else's poo smells so much worse than OPs who start threads like this.

Alfie190 · 02/11/2018 13:39

@abacucat I must admit, when I read the thread title I also thought she was going to say he dumped on the drive way. 😂

FredFlinstoneMadeOfBones · 02/11/2018 13:40

OP it sounds like you have an anxiety issue when it comes to the toilet. It's unfortunately but not the fault of the driver who didn't do anything wrong.

PortiaCastis · 02/11/2018 13:40

Best not have any deliveries then OP

HolyMountain · 02/11/2018 13:40

low hygiene standards

Oh come on OP, give over looking to be a goady fuckerGrin.

Dorsetdays · 02/11/2018 13:40

Miscible. Because so many people were saying ‘ffs! It’s what’s a toilet is for....’. Which implies that means it’s a free for all.

It’s the Op’s home, including the toilet, so she can allow or not allow who she wants to use it.

Not a chance would I allow some random delivery person to use my home like that. Sorry, just no.

SEsofty · 02/11/2018 13:41

Man uses product for the purpose for which it is designed shock

ProfessorMoody · 02/11/2018 13:41

I'm with you OP and I have a bowel condition. I'd never expect to use the loo in someone's house unless I was a guest.

If it happens again, tell them sorry but your child is in the bath. They can do what we all have to do and find a public toilet to shit in.

WitsEnd2018 · 02/11/2018 13:42

HolyMountain - how am I being goady?

OP posts:
gamerchick · 02/11/2018 13:42

I don't think they should use client toilets. He should have gone back to the office/home/public loo

Can you shit on command like? Must be nice Hmm

No I'm not exaggerating I struggle with other people's bodily functions outside of my family. I can't stand using public toilets etc and won't eat from a buffet. I think a lot of people have very low hygiene standards

No OP you're just slightly extreme in your thoughts. I won't eat from buffets either but I'm not scared of peoples shit in my toilet.

It happens, we all do it. Let it go.
