Delivery driver just had a dump at my house!

AIBU? I've just had some furniture delivered and the first thing the guy said was, 'Can I use your loo?' I didn't want him to but felt that I couldn't refuse so I reluctantly said yes. He was in there for ages. He's had a smelly dump. It fucking stinks. I could have cried. He then bought the furniture in and I've just had to go and clean the toilet. I'm disgusted.

Cressida mine aren't remotely interested in anything kept by the loo except the loo wipes, DS2 wipes the seat if he gets poo on it.

Deidre21 · 04/11/2018 12:03

Agree with ciderhouserules LaurieMarlow, PortiaCastis. This thread is becoming more and more funny.

Cressida89 · 04/11/2018 12:15

I totally believe you Philomena but that doesn't mean all children are like that!

Sparklingbrook · 04/11/2018 12:17

Why oh why is this not in the papers yet?

Limensoda · 04/11/2018 12:23

Who the hell would prefer to stick their hand in toilet water to wipe their shit marks away over having a toilet brush confused that's disgusting

No one 'prefers' to stick their hand in the toilet.
If they have to they will because it's easier to wash your hands than a toilet brush, unless you thoroughly wash the toilet brush after EVERY use.
A rinse into enough to clean a brush and there are so many bristles you would spend ages washing it.

derxa · 04/11/2018 12:27

I'm bemused by how this is turning into a class issue.. How long have you been on MN? This is a very important sociological area. We should write important sounding papers on it. Defecation and Social Class for example.

JonesTarot · 04/11/2018 12:35

Was the furniture nice?

WitsEnd2018 · 04/11/2018 12:53

The furniture is great, thanks. Haha..

Toilet brushes are rinsed, there is no poo particles on them. To be honest, I think you are absolutely disgusting for sticking your down a toilet bowl even with gloves. That is disgusting and unhygienic. Toilet brushes are there so you don't have to stick your hand in the bowl. That is their entire purpose. That is the point. I seriously think anyone who doesn't use a toilet brush has very low hygiene

Rinsing won't get rid of all poo particles, then the residue sits on a damp loo brush in a warm bathroom with the bacteria thriving and growing.
You don't use your bare hand to touch any poo. You use some paper or a disposable cloth. You then thoroughly wash your hands which are then cleaner than any used and rinsed toilet brush.
It may be your hygiene standards that are low.

Limensoda · 04/11/2018 13:19

Hygiene expert Stephanie C, from Expert Home Tips, said: “Bacteria thrives in moist environments, so storing your toilet brush in this way encourages germ multiplication.
“In order to minimise this risk, the toilet brush should be bleached after each use to kill germs, then left to sit over the toilet bowl until dry.
“It can then be replaced in the holder.”
Are there any other ways to clean the loo?
Many experts actually advise against using a toilet brush altogether. They recommend sticking on the rubber gloves and getting into the bowl with cleaning products instead."

My friend wraps her loo brushes in carrier bags and puts them in the public bin outside the butchers. She does a commando-style roll out of the car every couple of months. It does amuse me.

cindersrella · 04/11/2018 13:35

He could have had a shot on the door step 💀

cindersrella · 04/11/2018 13:35

Shit not shot 👀

PortiaCastis · 04/11/2018 13:37

Grin Grin Grin @ commando style roll outside the butchers with carrier bags full of bog brushes, the butchers cctv must make hilarious watching. Where does she store the loo brushes before depositing in the bin ?

DameDoom · 04/11/2018 13:42

No idea PortiaCastis I didn't even know it was a 'thing' anyone did until I was held as a captive witness in the passenger seat. It does put one slightly off the butcher's award-winning Cumberland Curls.

PortiaCastis · 04/11/2018 13:45

Grin. Oh dear Cumberland curls has me laughing but not sure I'd want to eat them again

WitsEnd2018 · 04/11/2018 13:52

Honestly all this loo brush angst, is it worth it? Just buy a pair of marigolds and get stuck in.

I haven't got a loo brush. I think they are revolting. Bleach will get rid of every skid mark, unless of course, they are heinous delivery driver skid marks.

AGHHHH · 04/11/2018 14:08

Bleach doesn't get rid of anything, just makes it so you can't see it doesn't it? It also doesn't work on my mudslides unfortunately.

ciderhouserules · 04/11/2018 14:11

A rinse into (presumably ISN'T) enough to clean a brush and there are so many bristles you would spend ages washing it.
So what? No one then uses it to brush teeth! It does a job and that's it. It can be 'germ infested' but so long as it just goes down the loo, so what?
I keep a few drops of bleach in the loo-brush holder too. No way will I be sticking my hands down there, marigolds or not. Drying marigolds are far more likely to harbour germs that then get smeared about on everything else you use the marigolds for!

Unless you chuck the gloves after every use? in which case you are not very eco either.

BumDisease · 04/11/2018 14:57

"Honestly all this loo brush angst, is it worth it? Just buy a pair of marigolds and get stuck in."

Hahahahaha!!

Thisreallyisafarce · 04/11/2018 15:03

WitsEnd2018

I don't have angst. I have a loo brush.

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/11/2018 15:20

That should be a meme Thisreally.

Sparklingbrook · 04/11/2018 15:22

Where do you keep the poo encrusted Marigolds between uses?

How about this loo brush? If it's good enough for John Lewis it's good enough for me.
