Delivery driver just had a dump at my house!

AIBU? I've just had some furniture delivered and the first thing the guy said was, 'Can I use your loo?' I didn't want him to but felt that I couldn't refuse so I reluctantly said yes. He was in there for ages. He's had a smelly dump. It fucking stinks. I could have cried. He then bought the furniture in and I've just had to go and clean the toilet. I'm disgusted.

sorry OP - you're a weirdo. Toilets are made for shock horror having wee's and poo's. SURPRISE!!!! would you have rather this man shat in his pants???????

tectonicplates · 02/11/2018 22:04

Oh FGS how many more times are we going to have to go through this? It wasn't a random stranger off the street who just rang the bell and asked to use the loo. It was a furniture delivery guy who was bringing furniture inside her house. I'm not sure how you expect him to have delivered the furniture otherwise. You're being facetious by equating it to randomly inviting a stranger into your home.

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:05

@tectonic Also, was your 'Yes' suggesting that I had indeed been rude to you?! Despite never previously addressing you? Hmm

LaurieMarlow · 02/11/2018 22:05

If that’s the case why would they turn away any delivery driver, lorry driver etc who knocked on their foot?

It's not the same circumstance at all though. The delivery guy was from a trusted company, in her house already and doing a positive thing for her. The decent thing to do is to help him out.

If a random person who has no reason to be in your house asks to be let in, then that's totally different.

Dorsetdays · 02/11/2018 22:06

Portia. Just because he’s delivered something to my home, doesn’t mean I know him!

Am I expected to invite the Hermes courier in as well?

I’m NOT the one equating it. As I pointed out before, it was actually other posters saying that!

That’s my point.

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2018 22:07

I know my DPD man very well, he can use my loo any time. Sadly he's never asked.

Nursejackie1 · 02/11/2018 22:08

When he first asked why did you not want him to?! I can't imagine denying (or even considering denying) anybody the use of my toilet if they are in my house. That is what they are for. Were you being a snob by any chance?

tectonicplates · 02/11/2018 22:08

@Cressida89 My point being that I'm a normal person, and you're not. On the off chance that a friend actually said that to me, I'd ask them if they were under a lot of stress at the moment. It's just not a normal reaction to people using loos.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 02/11/2018 22:09

He couldnt of cleaned it if there wasnt anything to clean it with.

Massive over reaction

Dorsetdays · 02/11/2018 22:10

Tectonic. How rude to say someone isn’t normal just because they have a different view to you.

There have been plenty of people on here agreeing with the OP so perhaps it’s not as weird as you seem to think.

Boohissmiss · 02/11/2018 22:11

This was not some random he was someone scheduled to attend the OP houses at a certain time. She was expecting him and knew he was coming and yes I would let Hermes courier use my toilet too . Why would the company name make a difference

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2018 22:12

If they aren't discussing this thread on either This Morning or Loose Women on Monday I will be very disappointed.

Dorsetdays · 02/11/2018 22:13

Boohiss because I don’t know these people. They aren’t coming into my home. End of.

As I’ve asked before and no-one has answered. Would you give this advice to your teenage DD at home on her own? To let the courier who she’s never met before into the house?

selepele · 02/11/2018 22:14

I'm a bit ocd with people using my toilet as well but I suspect he likely had the runs which he couldn't hold.

All I can say is I am sure he was more embarrassed of it then you are.

Dermymc · 02/11/2018 22:14

OP your outlook on this is not normal at all. A toilet is made for shitting on.

I suggest a conversation with your gp about normal hygiene standards. You seem to have lost some perspective.

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:15

I'm a normal person and you're not

Well, I don't think we've necessarily established that you're a "normal person"; all we've established on that front is that I'm weird about poo/germs etc.

Lots of people are a bit neurotic about various things. They're still (often) within a normal range of human being Confused

You seem to be some way off the "normal" range in other ways, like in terms of being basically courteous to strangers...

TheWiseWomansFear · 02/11/2018 22:15

He asked first which is polite, he didn't wait and plan it it probably came on of a sudden and a loo is where one does their business.

Would you have preferred him to have shit in his van or in an alley?

Clean the loo, have some empathy and stop being precious

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2018 22:16

Would you give this advice to your teenage DD at home on her own? To let the courier who she’s never met before into the house?

I don't see what this has to do with the thread TBH.

Dorsetdays · 02/11/2018 22:18

Because lots of posters are saying that the OP must show empathy and that there are lots of people who drive for a living and can’t access public toilets.

The implication being that the OP should allow strangers to use her toilet.

Not a clever idea. I take it your answer to my question is no.

Boohissmiss · 02/11/2018 22:19

DORset must make it very hard for people to deliver funiture to your house. Does yours get posted through the letterbox. God forbid your heating ever goes or the plumbing . Do you only let family friends do these things in your house ? What about an ambulance you wouldn’t know the paramedic . I wouldn’t leave a teenager to collect a parcel most company’s require an adult to sign so that would be a non starter .

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:19

Lot of assumptions on this thread...

He was ill.
He was mortified.
He had had IBS.

All pure speculation. Some people are just cheeky fuckers. In all other MN threads, this is a given.

Clevs · 02/11/2018 22:19

Take it as a compliment. I sometimes have to use people's toilets when I'm at work (but would never have a dump) but will only go in nice clean houses with decent people living there. If the place is a shithole I cross my legs a bit more.

AiryFairyUnicornRainbow · 02/11/2018 22:20

OMG you would think y'all shit don't stink
