Delivery driver just had a dump at my house!

AIBU? I've just had some furniture delivered and the first thing the guy said was, 'Can I use your loo?' I didn't want him to but felt that I couldn't refuse so I reluctantly said yes. He was in there for ages. He's had a smelly dump. It fucking stinks. I could have cried. He then bought the furniture in and I've just had to go and clean the toilet. I'm disgusted.

Also only department stores have customer toilets, other shops they're mostly staff only and I've been to many services with no loos.

If you've ever had IBS cramps you'd know it's rather dangerous to drive when in crippling pain.

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:23

So the driver had IBS now?

Might I suggest that long-distance driving wouldn't be a great choice of job for someone with that condition?

TheWiseWomansFear · 02/11/2018 22:25

Then they sat outside my house for 15 mins must have been having a lunch break. Took a dump in my house and then he had his sandwiches.

GOOD GOD how dare the filthy delivery men be seen on YOUR ROAD eating their lunch. How are they allowed a lunch break? Slovenly.

Get over yourself Hyacinth.

Limensoda · 02/11/2018 22:25

Take it as a compliment

😂😂😂😂😂😂

SirGawain · 02/11/2018 22:26

I visit clients in their homes because I have a particular skill and enough work to pick and choose who I work for or not as the case may be. no one has ever refused to let me use their loo, but they would be off my list for a repeat visit if they did.

Londongirl888 · 02/11/2018 22:27

OP's house is not a public toilet not her responsibility to provide this facility. My sister had a similar situation it was grim and seriously no could use the loo due to the stench and the fact he did not clean up after himself why should OP have to do it? In future can I use your loo? No OP.

Boohissmiss · 02/11/2018 22:29

Londongirl and the OP was asked and she said yes he could use it. She should have pulled up her big girl pants and said no .

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2018 22:31

"He should have stopped at a shop or petrol station not in someones house. "

Most shops and petrol stations don't have toilets though. Confused

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2018 22:34

"I sometimes have to use people's toilets when I'm at work (but would never have a dump)"

So, what do you do if you need a no.2?

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:34

But it's awkward to say no. If, say, the Hermes delivery guy asked to use my loo I would be totally wrong-footed and would probably just say yes. I'd then hope it was just a wee.

It's not that I think it's totally unacceptable for a delivery guy to need the loo. But I cannot pretend I wouldn't be annoyed if they did a smelly poo and left a mess. And I am more squeamish about other people's bodies than most.

I also can't imagine not being able to wait. I don't just shit wherever I stand.

LaurieMarlow · 02/11/2018 22:36

Some people are just cheeky fuckers.

So asking to use the loo while doing an honest day's work is cheeky fuckery now?

ffs.

And it's not his fault that the OP is weird about toilet brushes.

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:37

what do you do if you need a no. 2?

I wait. I'm gathering that lots of people can't do this. Which explains why public toilets are so grim, I suppose.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2018 22:37

"Fine if you’re happy to let anyone in your home to use your facilities, I’m not and thats also ok."

It's not OK if you're expecting people to come to your place to visit or to deliver things.

TooManyPaws · 02/11/2018 22:37

This is hilarious. I had a similar situation with some guys that were working on my house. I opened the window, put the extractor on, sprayed some air freshener around, then went and took the piss out of him about what the fuck his diet was like.

And I have a bog brush in disinfectant for people to clean with; it was only the stench left as a result.

Guess what? I never gave it another thought till now, let alone heave and have hysterics all over the place. Have you never shared a loo with a bloke before?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2018 22:38

Cressida - I can wait until next time I get to a toilet, but not all day. Is there something wrong with me?

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:39

Asking to use the loo isn't cheeky fuckery per se

But people wouldn't be falling over themselves to diagnose the guy with bowel issues if they didn't think he'd overstepped some sort of boundary.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2018 22:39

"But it's awkward to say no. "

It's rude to say no, isn't it? I've never been to someone's house whose refused me access to the toilet.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2018 22:41

"But people wouldn't be falling over themselves to diagnose the guy with bowel issues if they didn't think he'd overstepped some sort of boundary."

I think it's the strong smell that's making people think he has bowel issues.
What boundary has he overstepped?
Would you prefer he went in the park?

LaurieMarlow · 02/11/2018 22:41

if they did a smelly poo

I don't expect anyone's poo smells good to strangers. Not much he could have done about that though.

and left a mess

There was no brush. So what the fuck else is he supposed to do?

I also can't imagine not being able to wait. I don't just shit wherever I stand

People can wait for a bit, sure. But they have to go sometime. He's on the road all day, with targets to meet, it's not at all unreasonable for him to need to do a poo.

Cressida89 · 02/11/2018 22:43

I'd certainly not say there's anything wrong with you Gwen !

As I've said, I know I'm weird. But we only experience how our own bodies work. When I was in 6th form I would go the entire day without using a loo (wee or poo) because I didn't like the loos. I guess if I had less control I'd have had to come to terms with the facilities...

LaurieMarlow · 02/11/2018 22:45

Fine if you’re happy to let anyone in your home to use your facilities, I’m not and thats also ok

I think that's really unkind actually as the person in question is doing you a service. I'd conclude you were lacking in basic decency.

callmeadoctor · 02/11/2018 22:46

This is a joke thread, yes?

WitsEnd2018 · 02/11/2018 22:47

No it's not a joke thread, this actually happened to me today.

OP posts:
callmeadoctor · 02/11/2018 22:47

It must be a joke thread because nobody would have a problem with a desperate delivery person using your toilet, would they?

WitsEnd2018 · 02/11/2018 22:48

I keep looking at this thread but I need to stop!
