That as soon as winter sets in, my diet willpower buggers off!

I’ve been so, so good all summer long but this week winter has truly set in for me, so far today I’ve eaten:-
2 scones with butter so thick I could see my teeth marks in it!
Half a pack of choc malted milk biscuits with my cup of tea
A packet of roast beef monster munch.
A spoonful of my dd’s Nutella.
I’m going into town later and have a overwhelm desire to pop into M&S foodhall (Don’t go in, don’t go in, don’t go in!!)

I was just thinking the same thing. I can't stop eating today and have a leg of lamb in the slow cooker for later too.....you know, in case I need a hearty meal after all the snacking.

I also find it easier somehow to eat salads or other light things when it's warm and the sun is shining. Come winter, I always feel more need for whatever we'd call comfort food (unfortunately not always healthy!).

Try doing what you can and don't feel too bad. Warmer days will come again soon :)

UnleashTheBulsara · 01/11/2018 12:37

I meant to step up the exercise to counteract this effect. Unfortunately I have done sod all this week, never mind extra!

And there's stollen and mince pies over the horizon. And Christmas cake...

Did someone mention buttered scones...?

Afternooninthepark · 01/11/2018 13:13

Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve fallen off the exercise bandwagon too! Am staring at the treadmill and weights in the conservatory, again fine in the summer but they now look like items of torture, damn you winter!!

OH god me too. I just want to eat potatoes and pies and drink wine

Afternooninthepark · 01/11/2018 13:16

And there is a box of seashell chocolates in the cupboard that I got free from Lidl the other day. I was planning on keeping them til Christmas -they’ll never make it!

Right I’m off into town now. Must not go near M&S or Greggs (could murder a sausage roll right now).

Me too. I’m using EBF DS as an excuse but he’s 5.5 months old so my days are numbered. I need to get my arse in gear and lose the baby weight and lay off the biscuits.

PoesyCherish · 01/11/2018 14:07

Me too! I eat so well during the summer, at least the vast majority of it anyway when I'm not on holiday. Come winter I just want cake and hot chocolate and all sorts of other calorie laden food!

Good luck avoiding M&S Smile

Afternooninthepark · 01/11/2018 15:51

Managed to avoid M&S but succumbed to another bloody packet of monster munch Shock . The sun had better show its face tomorrow, rainy days and my waist line are not good friends!

Maje lots of soups. I find they help to limit all the crap.

HelenaDove · 01/11/2018 16:23

im the opposite way round I put on weight over the summer. I cant bear 30+ degree heat so ate loads of choc ices.

i lose in the winter The weight is just starting to come off again.
