Just had two lots of quite young trick or treaters round.

Both times the adult with them also took sweets and even had their own bag! Cheeky fuckers.

I'll whip the basket away next time.

I've learnt from previous years to hand them one piece of chocolate each rather let them help themselves, after several CF incidents with kids grabbing handfuls.

It also grates a bit when the kids / parents don't say thank you.

Pinkkittens292 · 31/10/2018 18:20

Wow! Never known that before.
Unless she was taking some home for a younger child who'd gone to bed early and felt they were too young/ poorly to tag along with them but promised to bring them some sweets home? If that was the case though them the adult should have offered this as an explanation!

KitKat1985 · 31/10/2018 18:20

Sorry meant to say, but yes, adults helping themselves is rude the rule is you nick the chocolates from the kids buckets once the kids are asleep

kitkat yes, every time. Mine are too old to go out any more sadly. Have kept a couple of Twixes by for later.

Just given out about 100 treats in less than an hour. It’s mad round here - in a good way 🎃👻🤡😀 My ‘All gone’ signs are now up.

None of the adults took sweets, all the kids dressed up and some of the grown ups. Only about 3 kids took more than one and I let it go, a couple of parents had to remind their kids. Everyone said thank you or their parents did, often both. Tots to teens and all looked and behaved fab! Love it!

My 12 yo is going round with 2 friends and without me this year. I a disappointed not to have been invited!

GreenMeerkat · 31/10/2018 18:30

We have never once had truck or treaters! Sit here every year with a bowl full of treats and not once has anyone ever been! This was in our current house and our last one. We live in a normal suburban neighbourhood so don't really get it!

Lots of treats for me later!!

KitKat1985 · 31/10/2018 19:13

Do you have a pumpkin out Green? I only let my kids knock on decorated houses. x

Shutityoutart · 31/10/2018 19:51

It’s 8.45 here and they are still knocking . Time to bring the pumpkins in I think.

Fluffyears · 31/10/2018 19:56

Have had about 8 kids when last year I had loads....oh well that’s a shame i’ll Need to eat all those sweets.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 31/10/2018 19:56

I’ve got through lots of sweets...DH even went and bought more... but only had children taking them and only one packet haribo / fun size each. Some great costumes and polite thank yous and praise of our decorations.

Oysterbabe · 31/10/2018 20:07

That is cheeky.
I bought loads of sweets so gave them a handful each. Lots of cute kids in costume and all polite. I've just brought the pumpkin in.
