Hi,
I took out a 24 month pay monthly contract in July and a few weeks ago I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't work.I sent it in for repair and now they are saying I have to pay £270 to replace the handset. They say it is bent. It was not bent at all when I sent it in. I am livid and I want to cancel the contract but I think they will try to charge me huge fees to terminate early. This can't be right....what to do.....

Did you take any pictures of your phone before you sent it off? We're you made aware of any charges before you sent it off?

I would write something in their FB page or Twitter. Throw in some phrases like poor customer service and not the quality you expected. They'll soon be in touch.

I had this with DS2's phone. They said it hah been damaged, I said it wasn't. His phone is kept in a case and was immaculate etc. Initially they said I needed to pay for the repair. When I said no way, they said they immediately reduced the cost by half, that was the best they could do. I said not good enough I wanted to speak to someone else, they promised to get someone to call...

I never got a call but when I phoned back the account had been marked that they'd agreed to do it free of charge. (some one chickened out of calling me back?!)

Such a shame because we've all had Tesco phones for years and until recently the service has been excellent.

Just keep complaining, they do have discretion to change it
