No proper CFs
No parking threads
Nothing meaty to get your teeth into

The topics seem pretty quiet lately too, Mumsnet was my escape from a very dull work day

Well, this one isn't terribly exciting either, you've made very little effort.

Couldn't you at least have been FUMING about it? Or discusted. I'm very disappointed....

GhostsInSnow · 31/10/2018 10:25

Yes how awful that other peoples lives aren't full of misery and drama for others entertainment.

RTFT · 31/10/2018 10:26

Guilty as charged SoupDragon, this can join the extremely dull threads!

Yes, that's exactly what I meant GhostsInSnow Hmm

I reckon Aibu is too scary for some. It’s like walking on eggshells, have to be so careful how you word things or you get pounced on.

Theyprobablywill · 31/10/2018 10:41

Not to worry, the christmas begging threads should start any day

. I always like to entertain myself by offering advice as the OP gets more and more frustrated by the lack of pms offering money, then ups the game to be explain why they couldn't possibly do anything suggested, and oh no! They have no electricity and are down to 11% on their phone.

Henryismyfriend · 31/10/2018 10:49

I'm disappointed that no one has started a fireworks thread yet, I was tempted last night but too busy trying to comfort the dog with the random bangs from people 'having fun' a week before bonfire night.
Helps me to have a rant about the amount I spend on sedation so my dog doesn't stress herself to death for a week/10 days either side of people's fun.

Bananalanacake · 31/10/2018 10:52

I love laundry threads.

DollyWilde · 31/10/2018 10:55

It’s because the trolls have got so shit IMO. Once upon a time I think most of the entertaining threads were BS but at least they were interesting. Now the trolls are so obvious or so fucked up you’re loathe to engage...

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 31/10/2018 11:00

I'm sure they'll be some super offended posts later about begging brats making very little effort at Halloween dress, knocking on their doors and said brats not being happy at the quinoa cupcakes being handed out.

theycallmebabydriver · 31/10/2018 11:13

I have a CF neighbour story. I find it amusing and can't be arsed to get worked up about it but I believe it to be very CF...

I live in the ground floor apartment in a converted house, it's an odd layout but the pertinent bit of the story is that us and the apartment upstairs (apt 1) share a courtyard which we have fenced off into our respective bits. The electricity meters for our 2 apartments and 2 more to the side (which includes apt 4) are in a cupboard in their bit of the courtyard and it's written into their leasehold agreement that they cannot lock their gate so that the meters can be accessed.

A few weeks ago I took in 2 cases of wine for a man who lives in a house down the road (not connected to the apartments in any way). When he came to collect it he apologised and said 'I usually ask for deliveries to be made to the cupboard next door, I'll make sure the message gets
through next time' ShockShock

My guess is that that following has happened. CF is friends with the freeholder of our building who lives in apt 4, they will have said it's ok for him to do this. Apt 1 is rented out by the leaseholder and so is none the wiser that anyone is using his courtyard as an unofficial Amazon locker. Apt1 leaseholder and the apt 4 freeholders hate each other's guts if apt1 knew they'd go ape shit. I'm staying well out of it and saying nothing as I regularly get messages from both of them moaning about the other in a bid to get me onside and I refuse to play that game.

OP:

Start a scintillating one yourself, then.

BunsOfAnarchy · 31/10/2018 14:28

The condom one was good the other day.

Aside from that yes....a bit dull.

RTFT · 31/10/2018 14:30

I would SilentIsla but I lead a very dull life myself and come here for light relief.

I like the pictures of pets ones too, not just CFs and parking loons

Yeah you're right 👉

Staringcoat · 31/10/2018 14:39

Too many trolls.

And too many journalists poaching stories for papers, radio and TV.

With the result that any genuine poster with a relatively interesting story or dilemma to share, holds back from doing so, because the thread will get hundreds and hundreds of responses (simply by virtue of there being so few interesting/genuine ops nowadays for people to respond to) and it all becomes a vicious cycle.

Plus not many posters post for fun any more for fear of attracting the permanently offended brigade!

'Tis a shame!

Staringcoat · 31/10/2018 14:42

Gah! Wish there was an edit button on here! Meant to say that when a thread attracts lots of responses it's then more likely to attract journalists etc and then it becomes a vicious circle. If that makes sense!

AGHHHH · 31/10/2018 14:43

Yes how awful that other peoples lives aren't full of misery and drama for others entertainment.

😂😂 Always one.
