The Box of Delights was wonderful until the last episode. Mum & I just stared at each other, appalled. What a letdown!! Think she's still a bit cross about it Grin

Later on, Kizzy. I used to love the Sunday evening programmes too- Ballet Shoes, the Secret Garden, the Peppermint Pig.
Ah. Nostalgia...

DontCallMeCharlotte · 31/10/2018 12:39

I loved Pogles Wood as well. And also the Wooden Tops (with Spotty Dog Grin) as well as Hector's House: "I'm a great big chauvinistic old Hector" (I may have imagined that particular episode).

When I was bit older I loved Carrie's War and Seven Little Australians (OMG sooooooooooooo sad - it still upsets me 45 years on!).

And, of course, Bernard Cribbins on Jackanory. Then and now.

Tigger001 · 31/10/2018 12:43

I loved The Mr Men and Top Cat ( not sure if it was called Top Cat or he was just the main character )

I can honestly say I have never heard of any of these. Admittedly I don't have DC so it is my age or are you not in the UK MintCassis?

HildegardCrowe · 31/10/2018 13:34

I'm old but I can see there are one or two other Mumsnetters who might be of the same vintage!

Anyone remember the Singing Ringing Tree? A unique and bizarrely wonderful East German production shown in the early 60s based on a fairytale. Think it's become a bit of a cult classic. Also the Tinderbox.

3TresTrois · 31/10/2018 13:35

Loads already mentioned.

I loved:

Grange Hill
Blue Peter
Rentaghost
Why Don’t You? (In the holidays!)
