So OH works 8-4.30/5 but doing overtime is 8-8 (gets paid weekly, earns £1 per hour more than me) I do 9-5.30 then home for 6. I usually do dinner while our 4 year old watches cartoons in the living room. We eat dinner then it's bedtime around 8. I read child a story then hold their hand till they are asleep (refuses dad to do it :s) usually asleep by half 8 then I'm downstairs to empty and load dishwasher after dinner, same with washing machine and tumble dryer, any dry clothes are folded and put away. After this I study (part time OU bachelor's) till 11 then maybe read till I fall asleep in bed.
He gets home plays with the child while I cook, helps me get the child ready for bed by encouraging him to get jammies on themselves or. I bet u can't put it on, no way you did it well done type of stuff. Then goes downstairs and is on his phone or watching TV while I do the chores.
Had a big argument tonight over nothing (he was off and did the washing but left it in the tumble dryer or on top of it) which became other stuff and he made it clear that he has worked full time since forever and I've only started this past year ( only worked part time for childcare but child is in nursery so now I'm ft again).
Aibu to at least want appreciation and acknowledgement for the extra stuff I do and aibu to expect him to do similar on a day off
