I joined my local council list last September and 13 months later and still nothing.
My latest property I'm 37/122
And 45/151
I'm feeling really hopeless about it all.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
How long am I looking at hers ?
Another year ?
Two?
It's so disheartening.

It all depends on the local authority, number of bedrooms needed, banding etc. I know of people who have waited 9 years on the housing lists

FissionChips · 30/10/2018 14:02

10+ year wait in my LA unless you have priority bidding (eg, homeless with children ).
Have you tried Housing associations?

belleha · 30/10/2018 14:02

I'm in general needs band which is moving through choice.

I'm with a housing association now in a 1 bed.
I do love it but need something bigger.

My council is 10+ years im waiting for a move myself but am not a priority, youve only been waiting a year thats nothing tbh, ive been on the lost a year already.

Giantbanger · 30/10/2018 14:05

I waited 11 years. I had to private rent while I waited.

You have a house, is it adequate for your needs?

What's your reason for wanting rehomed?

FissionChips · 30/10/2018 14:06

Do you need a bigger property due to overcrowding or disability?
