I’m a Walkers Cheese & Onion devotee. It’s been going on for at least 43 years.
We were in Kennedy’s in Dublin on Saturday and ordered some C&O with a round. DH returned with Manhattan crisps, my lip curled at the crap branding. Friend said they were fantastic, assumed he was an idiot, then I tasted one!
They are very like Walkers in flavour, but even more intense. I know (thanks Greg Wallace) that crisp flavours are made by seasoning houses for the different brands, and presumably protected, I wonder if the same seasoning house makes Walkers and Manhattans C&O and they are actually very similar but that each brand’s right to their mix goes back long enough for their to be no grounds for Walkers to intervene?
I’m probably giving this too much thought, but if you haven’t, and you get the chance, try Manhattan C&O.
We scoured the airport for them and drew a blank.
Any other Manhattan fans out there? Any Manhattan crisp people?
