Aviva Community Fund - how can I get more people to vote for our project?

Not so much an AIBU, more of an arrgghhh!!!!

Our PTA has put in a bid for funding from the Aviva fund - it's to totally upgrade and refurbish our very old and knackered ICT facilities. The funding would have a HUGE impact, if we're successful. It would literally take us at least another 2 years to raise the money on our own (we've already put aside some towards this project but it's nowhere near enough to complete the upgrade yet).

To get to the next round as finalists, we need public votes. It's quite straightforward - you just have to be over 13 and in the UK. Register with Aviva and then you get 10 votes to use.

So far we have been sharing on our PTA facebook and twitter and also posting on all the local fb sites, etc. I'm going to put some posters up around town this week (kids go back to school tomorrow) but what else can I do? I thought we'd have thousands of votes from local community already given that you get 10 votes per person. Media savvy / PR people, what am I missing?

Here's the project if anyone wants to take a look - it's too late to make any changes but I think we've done a nice job given that we have no experience of writing bids, making videos etc! I just can't bear it if we don't get anywhere due to lack of knowing how to promote it.link here
Good luck to anyone else who's put a bid in - I've had a look and there are some brilliant projects.

Get people to vote using ALL their email addresses, most people have 2 or 3 addresses (usually through phone provider/FB/membership of organisations), so you can get 20-30 extra votes per person that way. Get people to get their spouses to vote too.

Good idea about getting spouses etc to vote too - I would have assumed that was obvious but maybe we should be spelling it out a bit more. Not sure about the multiple email addresses - won't they be able to tell??? Grin

They can't tell (I did it for a local library project last year and a local scout group the year before).
If you have an older Gmail account you can use it twice (as @googlemail and as @gmail).

Thanks @InMySpareTime, that's useful to know! Did either of your projects get through to the final round? Apparently we will get £500 automatically if we get to the final. Which is a huge amount for a small school like us. And actually winning the whole amount - we've asked for £10k - would be unbelievable. Just worried that I have now got everyone's hopes up and we might not even get to the final round...

The library one got the money but the scout one didn't
