...to see opposite neighbour looking out her kitchen window at me, licking plates before loading dishwasher)
I am not sure whether to be horrified at being caught out red-handed as it were, mid-lick, cleaning my dish before loading it in d'washer or just, oh well, I love my food and none will go to waste whilst I'm around.
Its gross though isn't it...oh... am swinging here...I just can't get enough of the taste and I need to portion control, so don't want to leave anything!
Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 18:18
Yay! Another plate-licker!
TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 28/10/2018 18:21
I hate to break it to you, SilentIsla, but when you pick up food from your plate using your fingers or cutlery, it goes into your mouth and gets chewed up using your teeth and tongue. If you drink from a glass or through a straw, the liquid goes into your mouth and your lips and tongue make direct contact with the liquid.
How is it so very different to cutting out the middle implement/tool to lick the food up from the plate? It's all learned behaviour to find that disgusting. In some other cultures it's probably the height of good manners to compliment the cook by eating up every last scrap of a delicious meal.
Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 18:21
I don't think it's ver hygenic or naice to eat off the table, or floor!
is it really so horrifying? To those horrified, you never ran a finger through some delicious sauce or juice on plate? Or a stray strawberry, sausage, fner fner

Her tongue was so long and thin
She could lick a bowl right 'round the brim
After dinner with mates
She'd lap up the plates
Then wash it all down with a gin!
Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 18:30
Thinking of having shame-free pizza tonight, no plates.
TornFromTheInside · 28/10/2018 18:36
She opted for pizza - it rocks!
Free of the taunts and mocks
But at the end of the meal
Her neighbours did squeal
She was caught licking cheese off the box
Bluntness100 · 28/10/2018 19:22
Are you ehrm, drunk, by any chance op?
GreatDuckCookery6211 · 28/10/2018 19:25
I think the OP is on a wind up tbh.
Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 19:30
Which bit? The pizza?

Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 19:31
...and no, not drunk, had small pina colada last night... Don't drink regularly... Are these serious questions though?
HairyArmpits · 28/10/2018 20:24
It made me lol but it really is gross!
I mean, gross.

CrimsonCloverHoney · 28/10/2018 20:27
This is hilarious
We all do weird things behind closed doors, don't we? I just make sure my curtains are closed first.
redastherose · 28/10/2018 20:31
That's brilliant Torn. OP the pearl clutches are out in force tonight. I know you're not the only person to have eaten the leftover food of their DC's plates nor to have scraped up the last bit of something nice from a plate. Would everyone be as shocked if you'd said you were licking the last bit of ice cream out of your bowl before putting it in the dishwasher! I somehow doubt it.
GinghamStyle · 28/10/2018 20:37
I once dated a guy whose dad would pick his plate at the dinner table! My boyfriend also told me that the reason he ate so quickly was because growing up, when their dad had finished eating his own dinner, he would take food from their plates and so you either ate fast or went hungry!
SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 28/10/2018 20:59
When I read this thread I thought you were going to say you had been caught mid BJ 🤣
chemenger · 28/10/2018 21:20
Next you’ll be saying you lick your knife as well.
LipstickHandbagCoffee · 28/10/2018 21:54
Are you drunk?are you on glue?MN attempt at pithy put down
When a post is simply beyond their limited ken
They probably think you, should have a spa day or highlights to get over it
MistressoftheYoniverse · 28/10/2018 21:58
Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 22:04
Chemenger how very dare you even suggest such a thing! Dishgraceful!
Dontstepinthecowpat · 28/10/2018 22:11
This has made me laugh so much! I have never licked the plate though I’d be too scared I broke my veeners on the crockery
SilentIsla · 29/10/2018 10:51
It would still be revolting to have to see someone lick an ice cream dish. Even children would be reprimanded for doing so - in the normal world, that is.
Shriekingbanshee · 29/10/2018 13:14
Where is this normal world that we keep hearing about, I want some of that except I can't sneakily lick plates
TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 29/10/2018 13:26
This thread.is not a s gross as I expected reading the title...
lolaflores · 29/10/2018 13:28
This madenenlaygh out loud. It's one of those things that people do when they don't think anyone is watching. Like picking your nose. Farting really loudly. Scratching your bum
So sorry your neigh our saw you and bless you for your honesty
lolaflores · 29/10/2018 13:52
