Previously banned poster query?

I promise to not make this a thread about a thread ... BUT... what is a previously banned poster?

What would someone have been banned for? Bad/abusive language?

Or is it someone making stuff up. But how do they know it's someone making stuff up? I presume they look at a persons IP address if they're using different emails?

I guess I'm naive but I find it extraordinary that someone invests a lot of time and effort into making up such a detailed story?

A previously banned poster could be previously banned for just about anything really - persistent breaking of our talk guidelines, posting without the best of intentions (to goad users), or to troll about stuff.

If we delete an entire thread because it was started by a PBP, chances are we did so because that user wasn't telling the whole truth, and we found inconsistencies in their stories.

Either that or we found the thread to be inflammatory.

As for why people make this stuff up? We ask ourselves this every day.
