My first thought was YES enjoy it. My second thought Yes enjoy it unless you really can't do without it. If you rule over the wine enjoy it. I now need to go and fill my glass.

Prepare to feel pretty ill tomorrow if you start on the gin after a whole bottle of wine. Sorry to spoil your fun!

Depends.

Do you have any dcs? That’ll wake you up early?

If so, no.

I am a bit sttprised that you can still form coherent sentences (but then again I am a lightweight). Drink as much as you can handle I suppose.

Watch the Seinfeld sketch about Night Guy. He talks hilariously about how Night Guy screws over Day Guy. Night Guy gets drunk and leaves Day Guy to cope with five hours sleep - but hey, that's Day Guy's problem, not Night Guy's.

I wouldn't.. The clocks change tonight. Somehow that means toddlers go the other way and get up at 4am

How are your hangovers? Doing wine and gin can be brutal. I speak from horrendous experience. Seriously, I've had to make breakfast for DS while barely being able to hold up my head for violent nausea.

If DH only has 3 beers he can get up with the DC. Go for it! Gin

(I may be drinking cherry rum here. I am drinking responsibly. My DC is 32, he is drinking with me...... Grin)

I’d love a glass of wine right now, but the last two times I’ve had alcohol (and not that much), I’ve woken in the night with the most horrendous migraine.

My body has said no more.

YABU and I am very appalled at all you people and it has nothing to do with the fact that I can’t handle more than one glass of red and that my 1 year old won’t go to sleep Grin

Why has no-one shouted at the OP yet and pointed out her child might get an ingrowing toenail in the dead of night, and need driving to hospital that very second? Shock

I've lost all faith in Mumsnet now.

I'm off to open a bottle of wine...
