AIBU to be a bit worried?

I went to the GP yesterday and he is referring me on a two-week referral to a breast clinic for redness, texture change and bite-like marks on/in my bust. I also have a painful chest.

I wasn't sure what it could be so googled and found 'Inflammatory breast cancer' a few weeks ago (when the symptoms started)', which is a rare, fast spreading condition that can affect younger women and is diagnosed at a late stage (3/4). I'm 30 and don't even have my own family but was planning to.

AIBU to feel a bit scared?

Hi op. I have only just read your thread, but wanted to send you my best wishes. I hope today went ok and you are holding up well. Flowers

EmilyRosiEl · 07/11/2018 19:04

Thanks so much for your support and for thinking of me Costacoffeecup, Shriek, MrsPotter, Hidillyho and Stormwhale and everyone.

I had an ultrasound and I'm so relieved to be able to say it's not cancer- just benign thickening and inflammation!

Brilliant news! So pleased for youSmile

clydeonabike · 07/11/2018 19:23

Really pleased to hear everything's ok for you...just as an aside, your asthma symptoms may have been brought on by stress, it's not unusual for asthma to worsen during periods of stress and anxiety, so I hope that settles down for you now too x

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/11/2018 19:26

Very pleased to read your update OP. Phew.

costacoffeecup · 07/11/2018 19:29

Ah that's great news!!!!! Dermatologist said my mole isn't anything to worry about and he can cut it off after I give birth so good news here too. I hope you're having a big drink of something strong 😀

EmilyRosiEl · 07/11/2018 20:28

Oh that's great Costacoffeecup! so glad to hear it's OK too! and thanks for thinking of me when you had your own scare to contend with, i'm so sorry I was so self-focused and forgot to ask! xx

Thank you Greatduck,clydeonabike and Frederick!

Clydeonabike, I think you might be right about my asthma- I'm hoping now that I'm calmer things will improve with it too!

xx

That is absolutely bloody fantastic news op. What a relief!!! Still, be kind to yourself as you have been through the wringer over this and I wouldn't be surprised if you felt a bit wobbly. So so pleased for you.

BlueJava · 07/11/2018 21:02

Don't panic - and don't panic if they bring you in for more tests. I had 4 breasts scans (thought I'd be going back and forth for ever) but it was fine in the end. Mine was also red and a little hot and a duct had blocked/become infected. Obviously still go for your checks... that was just me (just saying it can be other things too).

costacoffeecup · 07/11/2018 21:15

@EmilyRosiEl don't be silly, yours sounded far more worrying than mine.

costacoffeecup · 07/11/2018 21:16

I hope you get on with the plans you made! Puts things into focus a bit doesn't it!

Hidillyho · 07/11/2018 22:07

Phew! So relieved for you!
