Aibu to think sainsburys need to resolve this?!

Posted a thread last week - problems galore!

Delivery slots not showing
Site jumpy as hell
Drop downs not working - eg if you search and then try and choose to show it as "from low to high price" it's making no difference at all!

Using favourites list - won't let you use the + button to order more than 1 of same item

In addition when you do add to your basket instead of staying at the same place it jumps right back to top of list. So then I've had to scroll right back down to the point I was at on the list to order the next item.

THEN when I've FINALLY managed to fill the basket it's not letting me process the order at checkout. Getting a COMPLETELY different screen to usual (which is worrying as this is the banking bit) after 30 secs it's saying "bank could not process" but the screen is not behaving as it normally would when processing. No other problems with bank so I HIGHLY doubt it's due to the bank.

Phoned sainsbury last week, call handler put the order through BUT this meant I couldn't alter the order if needed either (which I usually do and I think many customers use this facility)

Phoning them again now. Call handler doesn't seem the brightest. "Trying" to get a manager, again I'm being told they can process the order their end but again that means I can't amend the order if I want to

PLUS it's been AT LEAST a week since I told them of this issue. I doubt I'm the only one as people can't process their orders so will have been calling them about this.

Anyone else having same issues? Work for sainsbury? Cos I'm getting more than a bit pissed off that the actual issues aren't even being acknowledged let alone addressed

It seems to be the visa verification thing isn't working BUT there's the other stuff too!

I'm housebound and so therefore fairly dependent on online shopping

Morrison's? Asda?

Graphista · 26/10/2018 17:47

4th call handler I've spoken with who FINALLY admits they've been having this problem for at least 2 weeks. That there's been updates applied that have apparently messed up the site and they're getting a lot more calls as a result.

That's additional work and cost for them so hardly good business sense there - plus of course it will be losing them customers to rivals!

It's just a glitch. Companies get them all the time. Will be sorted eventually

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 26/10/2018 17:49

I don’t use their online service, but their Scan and Shop facilities have been on the blink for a few weeks now, and at the moment they’re totally out of order.

Really annoying as I find it so handy for budgeting.

Graphista · 26/10/2018 17:50

Morrisons don't deliver to my area

Asda I had NIGHTMARE with - over 20 subs in one order, poor expiry dates etc

Tesco also nightmare with subs/dates

Sainsbury - when their tech works - are pretty good, rarely get subs and when I do they're acceptable ones, good dates on things, more delivery availability usually too whereas the others the slots are few and go quickly.

Can you temporarily switch to another supermarket for your grocery delivery?

AwdBovril · 26/10/2018 17:52

Oh, sorry to hear that. Could a friend help by picking some bits up when they go shopping?

Graphista · 26/10/2018 17:54

Anona - OCCASIONAL and SLIGHT glitches ok - this is affecting customers ability to search products, add to the basket AND then can't checkout online at all! AND it's been going on almost 3 weeks!

Due to updates instigated by IT team yet they seem either incapable or unwilling of taking the system back to the previous status of working software.

As I say generally they're a good company to use, but 1-2 times a year this happens and it takes them too long imo to resolve.

I don't have anyone I can rely on. Long story short I was persuaded to move here under false promises from certain people of support which then never happened. As a result of my health issues and the type of community (very insular, vast majority of people who live here were born here) it's VERY difficult to make friends. Certainly friends to the point you can ask such favours. The few friends I have made have caring responsibilities, full time jobs and DC so I really don't feel right asking - and I shouldn't have to anyway. Generally the service works it's just really annoying when they do their updates/maintenance and it causes problems that they don't think to let customers know or put extra staff in place to cover extra demand on phones/in IT.

When you get to speak to the Sainsbury's call centre people, I'd be blunt about how cross I was about it all (if I were you). Tell them what position you're in, & the impact this has had on you - stress, phone call costs, struggling to get adequate food in, etc. Ask what they're going to do to compensate you, & point out you're looking for another online supermarket.

Do you have any local veg box schemes?

Noodledoodledoo · 26/10/2018 18:47

Everytime I shop at TU clothing I have to call to make payment as the checkout process fails, this time was told its because its a sale time - 25% off clothing but it has now happened 4 times over past 6 months.

crispsahoy · 26/10/2018 19:01

I've only used TU for school uniform and found the website horrible to use. From that experience I wouldn't like to do an actual online shop.
