Ever tried getting a car loan, any sort of loan, even a mobile phone contract or one for your kids when you have an IVA? Or a bankruptcy? It costs way more than those hols and stuff because you have to accept a crucifying interest rate or have guarantors. I wound up in a rental flat at one point having to have prepaid meters installed because my credit was fucked. That costs a fuckload right there.

MozzchopsThirty · 26/10/2018 17:50

Thanks for your concern

But I'll worry about it when / if it happens

Maybe just accept we don't think the same way

Curious2468 · 26/10/2018 17:53

£350 but it gets cleared each month

Overrunwithlego · 26/10/2018 17:54

Like a pp, I put almost all expenditure through the credit card, partly because of the security and partly for the air miles. Paid off in full each month, but means there is always at least 1k on it.

Cambalamb · 26/10/2018 17:54

It doesn't just not get paid mozz , you will be hounded tp pay it with ever increasing interest and taken to court.

itssquidstella · 26/10/2018 17:54

Zero.

PlainVanilla · 26/10/2018 17:54

Nothing, I pay them off every month.

PortiaCastis · 26/10/2018 17:55

We had to pay my Dads cards when he died and the bloody interest accrued while we were sorting out his estate

FreakForHummous · 26/10/2018 17:59

£5000

Majority is debt run up by STBXH - stupid me 🤦‍♀️

Gradually chipping away at it though and know I'll be able to clear it eventually.

doleritedinosaur · 26/10/2018 18:03

Under £6000.
It frustrates me a lot, but I am working at clearing it, once I’ve got my overdraft clear, I can pay off one card quickly & get the other one reduced quickly.

flumposie · 26/10/2018 18:04

£99. Use my card when I organise group trips to gigs, theatre etc . Always pay in full.

icebearforpresident · 26/10/2018 18:05

About £9000 on two cards. The payments are manageable (on one I pay minimum payment only while I pay well over on the one with the higher balance) but they've been playing on my mind more and more recently. I’m an estate agent in an area which was badly hit with the last recession and has never really recovered and the closer we get to brexit the more vulnerable I’m feeling. Have just gotten a 32 month zero percent balance transfer which will help clear it quicker, the actual card will be destroyed as soon as it arrives so I don’t add to it!

Would love to say I had at least gotten something worthwhile with all that debt but I didn’t really, half the cost of our honeymoon was about the best of it.

Seniorcitizen1 · 26/10/2018 18:07

£2500 - but this will be paid off at the end of the month. This is usual spend and cleared each month

anxiousmotherof1 · 26/10/2018 18:08

Its making me a bit anxious at the moment but given the fact that i have 5000 in savings already it doesnt bother me . If i lose my job dh can pay the rest off and we can leave off his salary anw

CrashBandicoots · 26/10/2018 18:08

£65

Northumberlandlass · 26/10/2018 18:09

Now....I did have almost £10k ☹️ combination of divorcing & then running family home on one wage. When i downsized I paid it off & cut it up!

Tiredmum100 · 26/10/2018 18:09

Nothing now. I use my credit cards every month when I'm ordering things online for the security aspect. I paid my bill today as it was payday, my bill was about £90. I use to have 10k at one point 😳. At the end of maternity leave with dc one (about 6 years ago) I had about 3k, which was a mixture of what I'd already had plus what I had needed to get me through the last unpaid months of maternity leave!

MrTrebus · 26/10/2018 18:11

Too much. It's completely manageable and on long 0%deals

Ochayethenoocoo · 26/10/2018 18:11

Less than 200 and paid off in full. I don't believe in spending money that's not mine if I can help it so except for mortgage we aim to be debt free.

notacooldad · 26/10/2018 18:13

£72.37 at this moment. I put fuel in my car and forget my debit card.
In half an hour or so, nothing as I'm p aging it off.

31133004Taff · 26/10/2018 18:14

The equivalent of one month’s net income. Priority to get paid off by January. LP here too.

Glittertwins · 26/10/2018 18:14

Paid off in full each month. Absolutely everything goes on them to maximise savings on points etc

nottakingthisanymore · 26/10/2018 18:15

It is always pain in full each month. Much prefer to save up for holidays etc. Have seen debt destroy people. I totally understand that some people need credit to survive but holidays and a new bathroom on credit just seems weird to me.

BatsAreCool · 26/10/2018 18:18

Zero.

In my younger days I had around £10k at one point but now I pay it as soon as I have purchased anything as I never want to go back to always having debt.
