To ask what this is in my mouth?

The last couple of days I've been having awful mouth ulcers on my gums and really painful spots on my tongue. Definitely flares up after eating almost anything.
Horrible taste in the back of my throat, like I've eaten something that was badly out of date.
I'm sure my breath would smell too.

Other info:

I'm 29, had a baby 11 months ago, dairy free, I've had tonsil stones before and this is different. I've had a poke for a tonsil stone and there is nothing, I've got no sore throat or anything, no redness. I'm taking breastfeeding vitamins so I don't think I'm lacking in vitamins.
I've eaten nothing new so I don't think it's an allergy.

What the heck is going on in my mouth??
Thanks

Anything on your hands or feet?

BlueBug45 · 25/10/2018 20:26

If your baby is 11 months old make a dentist appointment asap and get them to have a look.

CartwheelCath · 25/10/2018 20:28

Any spots on your hands and feet too or even elbows and knees?
I'm thinking it sounds similar to Hand Foot and Mouth Disease with the mouth sores.

Dacresmallwilly · 25/10/2018 20:54

Does your baby mix with lots of other babies and have you noticed them drooling a lot lately? It might be hand foot and mouth and if so, your baby is probably the vector!

30birthdayholiday · 25/10/2018 20:57

No, nothing at all on my hand or feet.

Baby has been drooling but I think she's teething, so thought it was that.

We were at the dentist 2 weeks ago and was fine.

She does mix with a couple of babies, but they've all been fine too.

I thought my baby drooling was teeth... then she came out in a light whole body rash which went to full scale hand foot and mouth

Ulcers in the mouth.. could be hand foot and mouth....

30birthdayholiday · 25/10/2018 21:10

I'm pretty sure it isn't that.

I've got no rash, neither has my baby. No temperatures. No sore throat either. I'll attach pics in a second of my ulcers and tongue

I've had mild ulcers before and sometimes get these spots on my tongue but this is out of this world painful!!

Just thought I've had the hormonal coil out in 2 weeks ago?? Surely it could be be that?

Oral Thrush maybe?

RainyAfternoon · 25/10/2018 21:53

I’d put money on this being hand foot and mouth. I had very similar symptoms to you after my daughter had hand foot and mouth, but I didn’t link the two until the symptoms came back when my son had it… It can vary in intensity with children so it might be so mild you don’t really notice it. Or it can be quite bad.

But it went on forever in my mouth… Had spots on my tongue exactly like yours, and couldn’t eat anything acidic for a long time.

Mind you, total self diagnosis. My doctor didn’t know what it was – it was only when it came back when my son had H, F and M that I made the connection.

Thank you for your replies. I've looked up a bit online about oral thrush and that seems to be closer to describing my symptoms. I'll keep HFM in mind incase the thrush treatments don't clear it. Thank you all

Any other symptoms like tiredness? Breathlessness? If the symptoms remain confined to your mouth, may be worth seeing the GP for a full blood count to rule out anaemia. Doesn't look like typical oral thrush. Another condition to mindful of is herpetic gingivostomatitis but TBH doesn't look like that either in your photos.

30birthdayholiday · 25/10/2018 22:34

No I wouldn't say I've had any other symptoms, although i have been anaemic in the past.
I've been having a lot of bleeding due to period/coil fittings recently so might be worth looking into that too, thank you,
