To cancel dd’s Party?

Dd1 (14) is having a small party on Saturday for Halloween, about 6 friends coming for 2 hours in the evening. She’s really excited as she has never had a party before at home.

A few hours ago I was called to collect dd2 (12) from school as she has a bad stomach. She hasn’t been sick but has been running to the loo wit the other end. She seems ok inherself, school say there’s a bug going around but it’s not like dd to catch a stomach bug.

Do I wait until tomorrow and see if it manages to into a full blown bug or should I be calling parents to cancel?

I don’t want to pass anything Nast on to dd1’s friends although if dd doesn’t get worse she may be 48hours D free by Saturday night (or we could all be struck down with it).

I would get her into bed with loads of films and just quarantine her whilst the party is on.
Her sister would maybe resent her if you cancelled the party.
Disinfect everything before the guests arrive and then keep dd12 out of the way.

If it's just diarrhoea could it be she's eaten something that's upset her tummy?

Personally wouldn't cancel unless she was very unwell

Get her to stay in her room cuddled up with lots of fluids and Netflix keep your other daughter away from her and make sure you are extra careful with hand washing and disinfect everything.

The way I would see it is I work in a mental health unit, and with isolation and good barrier nursing staff and other patients don't catch bugs.

Don't cancel at all, completely unnecessary. I'd bleach the toilet after DD has been and then do it again each evening before bed.

Each day:
Use disinfectant spray on all door handles and especially the bathroom door. The taps as well, and just wipe down any other frequently touched hot spots. Like the banister at the top of the stairs or the nearest light switch. Just until DD is feeling better.

This is a great opportunity to try out a new Zoflora scent!! Grin

Can't add anything to what people here have said- especially the excellent advice to remember door handles and light switches! Hand sanitizer as well.

If it's just d and not v I wouldn't cancel. If she had been vomiting I would suspect norovirus and cancel as it's almost impossible to prevent that spreading.
