I replied to someone’s post on fb about looking for people to do make up on we arranged on Sunday night for her to come over yesterday at 11am to do my make up I waited for an hour for her to turn up and she never arrived I messaged her to find out where she was and it took her until 1pm to reply with an excuse and cancel on me we rearranged for today at 1pm and she messaged me at 12:30 to say that she had found a flat tyre on her car and that she had phoned the garage at 11am to come and fix it and she was still waiting for them to arrive not heard anything from her since then so I don’t know what is happening. AIBU to be a bit annoyed and to feel like I’m being messed around.

Cant you book an appointment at a reputable salon?

I might be wildly missing the point here, why would you pay to randomly have make up done on a Weds or Thurs, for no particular reason, rather than for a night out?

MacosieAsunter I might do at least I would get my make up done that way. I only booked it with her because she put the post up on Facebook she sells make up for one of those MLM companies but now I understand why no one else commented on the post.

If this is a trial for something bigger - party, wedding etc then find someone else. She won’t show up on the big day

Yeah she is lying. She never had a flat tyre. She just couldn't be arsed to turn up. Probably found something more interesting to do.

Why do you need to pay someone to do your make up?

Think of it as a lucky escape if she’s an MLM shite hawker.
It’ll probably be terrible quality applied with no skill and then you’ll be given the hard sell for hours!

Yeah, she is a CF. Don't let her take any more advantage of you.

A polite response, saying why you can't do her and her appointment, due to other clients who have booked in advance and it will be not possible to fit you in at short notice.

It waan’t for anything special it was just a little treat for me that has ended up not working out. I didn’t believe the flat tyre story either. She tried to rearrange for tomorrow but I have told her in the nicest possible way that I no longer what any make up doing I get the feeling that it was just being done to try and get me to buy makeup off her which I would never of done anyway.

Ah - so it was her that posted on fb not you? She was offering to do it for free, the benefit to her is that the client decides to buy?

She’s totally unreliable, but tbh if you already planned not to buy anything, much as I hate the MLM model, that was pretty crap of you.
She’s wasted your time by not showing up - but you were planing to waste hers.

So I’d say call it evens and don’t bother being annoyed.
