My husband had a work emergency which saw him leave the house this morning before the kids were awake which meant I had to get them up fed dressed and the oldest to school (not a problem as I had my day off today) didn't hear from him all day and expected him back at his usual time at 7 but at 7:15 he rang to say he'd be home in about 15/20 mins. He's still not back yet so I can assume the job is still ongoing. He has plans to go training tomorrow after work as tomorrow is my second day off and then I'm back in work Thursday Friday and Saturday. I'm off Sunday again but he has plans which had been organized for months. He will be gone all day and probably in no fit state on the Monday. I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant and I'm killing myself trying to get everything done before baby arrives whilst trying to look after two other children and work 4 days a week 8 hour days. I suggested to him asking my childminder could she take dc tomorrow if it suited her and she had no other plans as I could have a bit of a rest and he thinks I'm wasting money. AIBU?

Shit happens so I’d be pretty accepting of his work emergency and still sticking to other plans.

But spending money (if you can afford it) ti but yourself some rest is never unreasonable!

Even if you’re not almost solo parenting at 36 weeks.

Call that childminder!
