to wish Harry and Meghan would stop holding hands when on official engagements

I think she is beautiful and he seems like a nice chap. I wish them a long and happy life with their child/ren.

But for the love of God, could they stop holding hands - they're not on a date, they're carrying out official business!

Makes me cringe, so it does.

The thing that really annoys me about Harry and Meghan is that any child of theirs won’t be a prince / princess.

I know why, I just think it’s a shit rule.

buckeejit · 22/10/2018 21:22

Why won't they be a prince/princess? I don't understand any of that. I like the pdas

ExFury · 22/10/2018 21:29

Their child will be a prince/princess when Charles becomes King (or before if the Queen changes the rules).

buckeejit · 22/10/2018 21:39

Huh. So are William's dc the only ones to be HRH

perezso · 22/10/2018 21:44

Why does it feel like the Invictus Games is always on?

ExFury · 22/10/2018 21:54

@buckeejit the LP’s from 1917 stated that only the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales would be HRH Prince...

The Queen tweaked it so that all of William’s children were treated the same title wise. Otherwise had George and Charlotte been the other way around she’d have been Lady Charlotte and him HRH Prince (can imagine the fuss!).

Otherwise Charlotte, Louis and Harry’s kids would have been Lady/Lord Windsor until their grandad is King.

😁

SilentIsla · 22/10/2018 23:03

He can hardly help it can he?

True. I apologise for that lapse. His big smile during that speech sort of makes up for it.

emss55 · 22/10/2018 23:07

I like it. Makes them more real and they are newlyweds with a baby on the way so all loved up. Are you Samantha Markle incognito??

AaahhwoooooOOOOooOOOOo1 · 22/10/2018 23:26

Otherwise had George and Charlotte been the other way around she’d have been Lady Charlotte and him HRH Prince (can imagine the fuss!)

Especially since Charlotte would have been heir to the throne and George not (which is, I believe, why HM did it)

Wow - some major issues you have there - God forbid they revert to the stiff upper lip and neglect the Queen showed to her children - Makes me happy - Anyone who is negative frankly a bit mad

MNMH · 22/10/2018 23:45

I think some people would prefer it if he dragged her everywhere by her hair.

And I'll bet if they weren't holding hands, the same people complaining that they do so would be all TROUBLE IN PARADISE?!

Clandestino · 23/10/2018 04:21

Can I ask in a very serious, non-trolling way, how all those royal engagements are perceived? Is it genuinely seen as some official engagement where a head of state or a prime minister comes to visit and it has an impact on the politics and relationship between those countries? I mean these are two people who just got married, with no influence on politics whatsoever, coming to hug the subjects, shake hands, make headlines in tabloids. Why can't they hold hands while doing so? It's not like they can have a say in anything relevant.
Or what is the logic behind it? I can't get my head around it.

FurryDice · 23/10/2018 04:32

In general I’m totally anti royals and think the sponging fucks should be abolished, but still find Harry and Meghan and their PDAs rather sweet.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 23/10/2018 04:54

As a card carrying republican they'd be one of the first up against the wall if I had my way, but I think its quite sweet how they are clearly mad about each other. The headlines are going to be vicious when/if the first blush of love wears off.

Clandestino · 23/10/2018 05:19

You see, that's what I mean. The bitching about holding hands because they're on a "serious royal engagement"? The hell they are. They're are a walking and living PR campaign, feel good factor included. So why not hold hands?

bitchwitch · 23/10/2018 05:24

too much alcohol out there tonight???????
thought it was the saturday night fights.

why is everyone so invested in this?they are just rich, recently married celebraties, getting ready to be parents.wait til they kiss the baby in public.
who cares if they want to hold hands.maybe it helps keep off the morning sickness.

Angelf1sh · 23/10/2018 05:49

Yes, yes you are.

Palaver1 · 23/10/2018 17:24

Its reassuring to have a hand to hold but why is a bad thing ..why does it irritate you
.so much time on your hands ..petty

Cali13 · 23/10/2018 17:35

Awk really ? I don't see the harm or why it bothers u lol. Can't seem to do much these days without it being an issue !

dementedmummy · 23/10/2018 17:36

Tbh, its what the public want to see. And honestly in a world that seems to be going rapidly downhill in terms of manners, morals and just general unpleasantness, I cannot take offence at this couple holding hands (or any other couple for that matter) and I speak as someone who is separated. Acknowledging someone else's happiness will never detract from your own success or happiness

MsLexic · 23/10/2018 17:41

It is a bit pukesome but I don't know why, I don't hate them at all. Normally I would but everything is so grim , they cheer me up. Sweet young fings!
Actually they aren't that young... yes you may be right...

OllyBJolly · 23/10/2018 17:46

They're at work. I don't know any workplaces that encourage/tolerate PDAs.

Ghanagirl · 23/10/2018 17:49

🙄

sueystev · 23/10/2018 17:51

jealousy is a strong emotion and you need to get a life.
